Goldman Foundation
Plans Four Volumes

When Rabbi Solomon Gold-
man, of Chicago's Anshe Emet
Synagogue, - recently died, he was
in the midst of preparing for
publication several important
works, whicht-he had saved for
the twilight of his years and to
which he had planned to de-
vote his full attention.
His volume, "The Book of Hu-
man Destiny," was to have been
followed by several other works
which would have spanned hun-
dreds of subjects pertaining to
the Jewish and • non-Jewish

In order to put his notes into
orderly fashion for publication,
a Solomon Goldman Memorial
Foundation' has been organized,
spearheaded by such sponsors as
Professors Albert Einstein, Ben-
jamin Mazar, Mordecai M. Kap-
lan, Carl Kraeling, Abraham A.
Neuman, Selman Waksman, Jus-
tice William 0. Douglas and
Golda Myerson.
Immediately under consid-
eration for publication are four
volumes, to be issued in the next
few years. They will include
"From Slavery to Freedom,"
"The Book of Human Destiny,"
"Addresses and Sermons" and
"The Letters of Solomon Gold-
man."

Form Teen-Age Group
In Oak Park District

Meeting recently under the
guidance of the Oak Woods
Synagogue's Sisterhood, t e e n-
agers in the Oak Park-Hunting-
ton Woods area formed a youth
group. Officers elected are
Sharon Lewis, president; Elaine
Cohen, vice - president; Sophie
Joseph, secretary; and Linda
Schoenfeld, treasurer.
All teen-agers in the area are
invited to join the group, which
next will meet Tuesday evening,
at the home of Miss Cohen,
10360 Oak Park Blvd.

The BOSTON "POPS" ORCH-
ESTRA, under the direction of
Arthur Fiedler, will appear - in
Detroit at 8:20 p.m., March 3, in
the Masonic Temple auditorium.
The orchestra will concertize
here as part of a nation-wide
tour.

Bnai Brith Bowlers
To Hit Record Entry

Herman W. Zimmerman. De-
troiter who is president of the
national Bnai Brith Bowling
Assn., this week indicated that
entries for the sectional tourna-
ment in Detroit the weekends of
March 6 and 7 and March 13
and 14 will break all previous
records.
Zimmerman stated that 1,500
bowlers already are registered.
The old high mark is 1,560.
Keglers from all states in this
area will enter. Rolloffs will be
held at the same time in Kan-
sas City, Louisville, Minneapolis
and Los Angeles, with the win-
ners meeting for the national
title.
Competition here will be held
at Great Lakes and DetrOit Rec-
reation. Arthur Schultz, 1953
national singles winner, is en-
tered with the Detroit Tikvah
Lodge team. Pisgah Lodge, De-
troit, has entered the high of
16 teams and is followed by Tik-
vah with 13 teams.

Bnai David Affiliates
Plan Barn Dance Saturday

The Sisterhood and Men's
Club of Cong. B'nai David will
jointly sponsor a barn dance at
9 p.m., Saturday, in the social
hall of the synagogue. A pro-
fessional caller and orchestra
will be featured.

Jerome Personnel Opens
NW Employment Service

Jerome Personnel, the first
employment agency in the
Northwest section, last week
was opened by Allen and Dor-
othy Sipher, who cited the "rap-
id expansion of business in the
area as necessitating an agency
of this type.
The employment service, lo-
cated at 18055 James Couzens,
will specialize in technical, cler-
ical and sales positions for male
and female applicants. At a i
future date, baby sitting and
practical nursing services will be
incorporated.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hyman,

can Aid," Hyman won a $25
