Midrasha Opens New
Semester on Dec. 20

The winter semester of Mid-
rasha (College of Jewish Studies)
will begin Dec. 20, 1953. Mid-
rasha. conducted by the -United
Hebrew Schools of Detroit as an
institution of higher learning
devoted to advanced Jewish
studies and the preparation of
Hebrew school teachers,. provides
in-service training courses for
those who have just begun in
the teaching profession.
Midrasha classes are open to
graduates of the - Hebrew high
school or persons possessing an
equivalent Hebrew education.
'Special classes are being of-
fered to prepare candidates for
the proficiency test of the .Jeru-
salem Hebrew Examination
which will be given in April of
1954.
Courses offered by Midrasha
include Jewish history, Bible,
liturgy, conversational Hebrew
and grammar, Hebrew literature
and Mishnah.
