Rabbi Syme is 33 years of age,
married and the father of two
sons. He is a graduate of the
Jewish Institute of Religion
(1945), now merged with Hebrew
Union College. He had served
the 125-member Butler congre-
gation for six years.
Born in Winnepeg, Canada,
now a citizen of the United
States, Rabbi Syme attended
Wesley College and was grad-
uated from the University of
Manitoba in 1941.
The Junior Chamber of Com-

merce of Butler recently named
him "Man of the Year" for 1952.
He was resident chaplain at
Bellevue Hospital in New York
for four years and had his first
congregation in: Sharon, Pa.,
1925 to 1948. He served as part-
time chaplain at Deshon VA
Hospital.
