Calendar for Armed Forces

NEW YORK — The 1953-54
Jewish Calendar for Members of
the Armed Forces, which con-
tains information of religious,
recreational and educational in-
terest to American Jewish GIs,
has just collie ,off the press, it
was announced by the National
Jewish Welfare Board, publisher
of the calendar. More than
3,000,000 calendars have been
distributed by JWB since 1917.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Levin, of
Pontiac, MiCh., announce the
engagement of ' their daughter,
Rose Marie, to Dr. Leonard H.
Cain, son of Mrs. Merrill Cohen,
of Port Huron, Mich., and the
late Mr: Cohen.
The bride-elect is a graduate
of the University of Michigan
where she was affiliated with
Sigma Delta Pi sorority.' She aLsO
attended Wayne University and
the University of Mexico in
Mexico City.
Her fiance, a graduate of Chi-
cago College of Dental Surgery
at Loyola University and a
member of Alpha Omega frater-
nity, served in the armed forces
for three years. The couple is
planning a Nov. 29 wedding.

Adas Shalom Sisterhood
Offers Youth Program

Mrs. Herbert L. Harris, presi-
dent of Adas. Shalom Sisterhood,

first meeting of the year at
12:30 p.m., Monday, in the syna-
gogue social hall.
Mrs. George R. Liss, vice-
president of program, has plan-
ned the season's events on the
general theme "How Beautiful
Is Our Heritage." The first pro-
