Dick Savitt, leading American
tennis star, dropped a few rungs
in the tennis ratings of the
United States Lawn Tennis As-
sociation's listing. In the new
rating just announced, Savitt
went from second to fourth
place. Right behind- him was
Herb Flam, one of the other
leading Jewish tennis stars cur-
rently in action. Savitt has been
on a. steady downgrade since-he
started running into difficulties
last year. At the time he • was
rated number two, there were
many who felt that he should
have been number one.
