merit awards were given to those who secured the most members
as a result of a telephone campaign and personal solicitations.

Detroiters Elected
On Bellefaire Board

Maurice A. Enggass and Mrs.
Samuel Aaron of Detroit were
re-elected to the board of trus-
tees of Bellefaire, Jewish Child
Care Center located in Cleve-
land, which services the mid-
western states, at the institu-
tion's 85th annual meeting held
in Cleveland June 21, it was
announced by Bertram J.
Krohngold, president. Samuel A.
Leib of Detroit also is serving on
the Bellefaire board.
Reflecting the increased need
for psychiatric services, and
other trained staff to help the
more disturbed youngsters being
admitted to the institution, the
board appioved the budget of
$419,753.35 for 1953-54. In addi-
tion, the board authorized the
expenditure of $68,000 from the
capital reserves of the agency
to meet major repairs and re-
furnishing needs in the quarter-
century old cottages.

The question of a new build-
ing for the Yeshivath Beth Ye-
hudah will be the major item
of a special conference of the
Synagogue Council of Beth Ye-
hudah School's. The conference
will be at 8:30 p.m., July 7, at
Young Israel Center.
At the annual meeting* of
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah, the
question of a new building for
the schools was raised. The Sy-
nagogue Council is meeting to
determine the advisability and
necessity of this undertaking.
