Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Levy, of Prairie Ave:, had as their
guests for a week Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stokes and daughters,
Heather and Gay, of Red Bank, N. J.
Mr. and Mrs. M. Ginsburg, of Traverse City, spent the week
end of June 13th in Ann Arbor and Detroit. They saw their son,
Milford, graduate from the University of Michigan's School of
Dentistry.
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall D. Shulman and children, of Wash-
ington, D. C., were the guests of their parents and grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Shulman of Webb Ave.
Daniel Elazar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Elazar, left this
week for Israel, on a scholarship of summer's study in the Jewish
Agency Summer Institute. In the fall, Daniel will enter the Uni-
versity of Chicago as a junior, on a scholarship.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hoffman of Monterey Ave. honored their
daughter, Florence, on her 17th birthday, with a luncheon, June
20, for 25 guests.
Mrs. Irving Arlin recently was honored as outgoing president
at a luncheon given by the 'officers and board members of t
PTO of Rose Sittig Cohen branch \of United Hebrew Schools.
Miss Shyrlee Bloom was guest of honor at a recent party
given by her brother-in-law and sister, Dr. and Mrs. Stuart Kar-
mann,. at their home, 20108 Cheyenne. Miss Bloom left for New
York this week prior to her sailing for Europe, where she will
vacation during the summer. She expects to return in the fall
and resume her studies P t Wayne University.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernarr Herbstman Zendel announce the birth
of their third grandchild and first grandson, Daniel Herbstman-
Ronis, born in Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Zendel attended
their grandson's bris June 23 at their daughter's home in Falls
Church, Virginia.
A surprise party was given for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown of
Monica Ave. by their children, to honor their 25th wedding anni-
versary.
Mr. and Mrs. David L. Spickler, of Vassar Drive, announce the
graduation of their son, Philip Clarence Spickler, from the Uni-
versity of Miami, Ccral Gables, Fla. .
Mrs. Albert E. Galin and son, Robert; are leaving for the coast
on July .7. They will visit Mr. and Mrs. Irving Schwartz (Rhoda
Galin) in Stockton, Calif.
Miss Judith B. Heyman., who was graduated from Wayne Uni-
versity last week, left for the East to serve as a counselor at Young
Judaea's national Tel Yehudah Camp.
Mrs. David Gantz, retiring president of Louis Marshall Chap-
ter, Bnai Brith, entertained 60 women at a luncheon at Stockholm,
at which time she was presented with a gift from members of the
board.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip E. Glassman of 400 Webb will be honored
Sunday, at the Bnai Moshe, on their 50th wedding anniversary.
They'Vere married in Philadelphia and have resided in Detroit
for the last 17 years. They are the parents of five children, nine
grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Fishman honored their daughter
; Dena's consecration from Cong. Shaarey Zedek June 14 with a
family brunch at their home on Outer Dr.
Jack Wasserman, son of Mr and Mrs. Edward Silk of Los
Angeles, was graduated last week from UCLA. Mrs. Silk is a
former Detroiter.
