B. Manischewitz Co. Saves Labor

For Housewives With Prepared Foods

Pictured above is the finished product—a peach upside-
down sponge cake, which is suited for any Passover table. The
recipe, prepared by B. Manischewitz Co., is detailed below.
* * *

Perhaps the oldest, the strong-
est, the most cherished tradi-
tions in Jewish life center
around the beautiful Passover
seder, with its centuries-old
ceremonies and warm memories
of the holiday joys,
Inevitably, since traditional
Passover foods are so intimately
bound up with the holiday,
many of our fondest recollec-
tions are associated with the
multitude of delightful dishes
we enjoy on seder night and
throughout Passover.
The list of B. Manischewitz Co.
Passover foods totals over 70
items. In addition to its time-
honored line of matzo products,
the list includes a variety of old-
time favorites such as gefilte
fish, borscht, schav, pickles and
preserves.

Samuel L. Haber, JDC director
for Germany, told the meeting
that his organization would pro-
vide all possible aid to East Ger-
man refugees seeking to leave

Europe. He warned, however,
that because of the restrictive
features of current resettlement
schemes most of the more than
500 Jewish men, • women and
children who fled to West Berlin
since mid-January will probably
remain in Germany.
Mr. Haber disclosed that more
than 100 of the refugees had
already been evacuated from
West Berlin to West Germany
under the Bonn Government's
air lift for those who fled Com-
munist Germany.
