At an open house reception,
Rabbi and Mrs. Joseph Rabino-
witz announced the engagement
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nedeiman, of Elmhurst Ave., celebrated
their 25th wedding anniversary on March 11. They were honored
at a dinner party given by their daughters, Gertrude and Bernice,
and son, Lawrence.
Zeta Beta Tau fraternity of Michigan State College recently
announced these new active members from Detroit: Bob Abram,
Mel Linden, Jack Koblin, Seymour Rabinowitz and Walter Wolpin.
Pledges in the fraternity include Seymour Schwartz and Bennett
Sims, of Detroit, and Ronald Scott, of Grand Rapids.
Honoring Mr. and Mrs. William Buchhalter, on the occasion
of their golden wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Al Dutsch of
Humber Road, Huntington Woods, entertained the members of
the immediate families at a dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schreiber of Grand Ave. and their
youngest daughter, Margo, recently returned from a month's
vacation in Miami Beach, Fla., where they visited Mr. Schreiber's
parents who have resided there for the past winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Karbal, formerly of Webb Ave., have
moved into their new home on Stratford Rd.
Louis Linden of Wisconsin Ave. returned from an extended
vacation in Miami Beach, Fla. Mrs. Linden will remain there
until after Passover when she will rejoin her family in Detroit.
Allan J. Roth, son of the Fred. Roths, of Tyler Ave., was re-
cently honored by his date, Shirley Goldstick, and Sheldon Gold-
smith at a surprise party celebrating his 17th birthday. Sheldon's
date was Shirley Kazdan. Others attending were Marty Rayl and
Paula Haberman, Nate Rosen and Rochelle Tilchen, Cal Weisman
and Jeanie Wasserman, Larry Weiswasser and Maxine Glassman,
Moore Brun and Harriet Phillips, Mel Eisenberg and Sheila Gold-
stein.
At a sweet sixteen luncheon at L'Aiglon's, Rochelle Tilchen,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Tilchen, of 4011 Richton, was hon-
ored. Those attending were Helen Amhowitz, Marilyn Avrushin,
Shirley Benaderet, Lila Diskin, Marilyn Glicken, Marion Glieber-
man, Shirley Goldstick, Shirley Grossman, Roberta Jacobs, Adele
Kleinbard, Rhoda Liebers, Anita Mirves, Adrienne Perchikoff,
Helen Pollack, Maureen Schumer, Shirley Stahl, Arlene 'Tilchen,
Shirley Weberman, Trudy Weintraub, Mesdames Frances Cohen,
Sarah Cohen, Bertha Goldstick, Thelma Kerwin, Ida Liebers, Faye
Mirves, Ethel Weisblatt, Lil Lenawitt, Pearl Leedyn and Pauline
Radeff, the latter three from Toledo, 0.
Ralph D. Foon, of Leslie Ave., will leave March 27 for a fort-
night in Los Angeles. While there, he will visit with the recently
married Mr. and Mrs. Leonard S. Beck and with Miss Naomi L.
Spector, former Detroiters.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Spector and Sylvia are back in Detroit after
a month's stay in Florida.
Detroiters who will observe Passover in Israel will include
Messrs. and Mesdames George Orley, Meyer Shugerman, William
Hordes and Daniel Temchin.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Freedman, of Elmhurst Ave,, celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary on March 1, at . a reception for
their friends and relatives. They have five married children, 13
grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Firm Deadline for April 3, 10 Issues
With Passover occurring on Tuesday and Wednesday,
March 31 and April 1, and Monday and Tuesday, April 6 and
7, it is necessary to enforce earlier deadlines for issues to be
published during the two weeks affected by these days.
For the issue of April 3, all copy, including photographs,
must be in The Jewish News office before noon on Friday,
March 27. For the issue of April 10, copy reaching us after
12 noon on Friday, April 3, will of necessity have to be
omitted.
Organizational publicity writers and others submitting
copy for publication are asked to cooperate by adhering to
these deadlines.
