father while he was in another

greeted him. ,
"I've missed you all, too," dad-
dy.. said. "But at least let. me
bring in my baggage." A short
trip to the car and father was
back, with his - suitcase in one
hand and an odd-looking brown
basket in the other. I've got a ,
big box of chocolates for you,"
he' said, and started rummaging
in the suitcase for it. ,
But the children's attention.

It wasn't on wheels, yet seemed
to be moving. It was tipping,
tipping, and over it went! The
top flew open and out rolled a
cuddly puppy.
"OR!" exclaimed Danny 'and
Judy 'together. "Is it ours? Is it
for us? Is it our own doggy?"

But the puppy only turned his

them. Judy was ready to• cry.

he asked. We only want to play
with him. We don't want him
to be afraid."
"Perhaps he just doesn't un
derstand 'yet;" daddy said. "I'll

owner lived in Israel for many

Judy looked puzzled, but Dan-

"Here doggy, here little kal . . .
kal . . . kalev," he called. This

Judy clapped her handsTri de-
light. "That's all' we have to do,"
she said. ''We'li call him Kalev,
instead Of doggy. We could even
call hitt. Kai, for 'short."
"That'S a good name, Danny
agreed. So Kal the Kalev became
his name. and the little terrier
became a part of Danny and
Jsdy'a lives. •• •

of a Czechoslovak non-Jew who
was believed to be the head, of a
spy ring in Israel. The man, •Jo
Seph Kupitzki, jumped out of
the window and suffered in-
juries from which he died, when
the. police came to arrest him
last Thursday on a tip from his
Israeli wife.
•1cupitzki came to Israel in
1948 and served in the Israeli
Army for a While. Duririg this
period he met, and married his
wife; a: `resident of Tel Aviv.
After his , discharge froin the
army he obtained employment
as ' a chauffeur for the 'Ameri-
can Embassy in Tel Aviv.
