An American Jewish Press Feature

Hello Boys and Girls:
Do you hear that clink., clink,
clink, all over America? That's
the sound of dimes marching,
marching to the annual drive to
raise funds to help prevent, as
well as to cure, infantile paral-
ysis.
All over the country, this month,
people are concentrating on the
"March of Dimes." Did you know
that it was one of our most be-
loved American Jews who
thought up that name for the
annual campaign of the Nation-
al Foundation for Infantile Pa-
ralysis?
You know him best as a tele-
vision and radio comedian. Your
parents saw . him in the movies,
perhaps on the stage as well.
Arid all over the world he is
known not only as a great co-
median but as a great humani-
tarian. The State of Israel has
honored him for his unending
efforts to bring it financial help.
He has been an ardent worker
In this country for the United
Jewish Appeal. He is known al-
most as widely for his assistance
to displaced persons, and his
sustained interest in many other
services to all people.
When you make your gift to
the campaign that helps thou-
sands of Americans each year
escape the terrible results of po-
lio, add another dime for the
originator of the March of Dimes
—the gay- little man with the
great big eyes—Eddie Cantor.
