To Wed Springfield Girl

Miss Sonya Margot Biener, of Tel Aviv, Israel is currently in
town, visiting with her aunt and uncle, the Abraham Beitners, of
18481 Hartwell.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fenton, of Strathmoor Ave., have returned
from a vacation in Miami Beach, Fla., where they were enter-
tained by Mrs. Fenton's uncles and aunts, the Robert S. Siegels,
of Pinetree Dr., and the Seymour Siegels, of Fairway Dr.
Solomon Family Club will meet next at• the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Allen H. Blondy, of Roselawn Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. David Rosen, Mr. and Mrs. Nat Rosen and Mrs.
Max Upfa.11, all of Detroit, recently flew to New York to board the
S.S. Santa Rosa for a visit in Caracas, Venezuela' with their
cousins. They will return at the end of January.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Milan and children, Joyce, Gary and Mr.

Dr. and Mrs. Samuel G. Reisman, of 19000 Wildemere, will
hold open house Sunday evening in honor of the birth of their
son, Douglas Mark. - • •
Rabbi Harold L. Gelfman, of Temple Beth Israel, Jackson,
Mich., represented the Jewish Chautauqua Society as lecturer at
Olivet College, Olivet, Mich. He spoke on "Tasks of Jews and
Christians in a World at Peace" in the Convocation Jan. 14.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Karr, of Tyler Ave., are currently
. vacationing in Florida for a month. On their return trip, they
will stop in Kentucky to visit friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Schiller, of Pingree Ave., are hosts to
Skippy Karr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold -Karr, for a month.
Skippy is being entertained by the two Schiller children, Sammy
and Louis.
Miss Carol Ann Lepofsky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mor Lepof-
sky, of 17829 'Kentucky, has returned from a visit with relatives
and friends in Toronto, Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Vexler. of Victoria Ave., Windsor, .an-
flounce the adoption of a daughter, Maxine Lynne, born Dec. 12.
Sigma Theta Delta sorority recently held its annual dinner
dance at Elmwood Casino. New officers installed on this occasion
were Helen Kertes, president; Bernice Kuhn, vice-president; An-
nette Braun and Elaine Davis, secretaries; and Shirley Davidson,
treasurer.
Detroit-born pianist Gershen Konikow last week appeared in
a recital at Steinway Hall, New York. The occasion was the annual
meeting of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, whose Inter-
national Recording Festival contest was won by Mrs. Konikow
last May.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Kramer and daughter; Ellen Ruth,
who made their home in Chicago for the last four years, have
returned to make their permanent residence in Detroit. They
. are temporarily residing at 2932 Calvert. Mr. Kramer was award-
ed the Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of
Chicago Law School two weeks ago. He formerly' was regional
director of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds
for the West Central Region, with offices in Chicago.

United Folk Schools
Opens Registration

Registration is currently tak-
ing place in the United Jewish
Folk School, 13722 Linwood, for
nursery and elementary classes,
announces Movsas Goldaftas,
principal.
Nursery ages are from 3 1/2 to
five years, a nd are held in two
sessions—either 9 a.m. to 12
noon, or 1 to 4 p.m, Element-
ary ages are six to 14, and classes
feature the test techniques in
modern Jewish e d u c a t i o n.
Classes are held. from 3:30 to
7:30 p.m.
Transportation is provided to
all residents living in outlying

Beverly Charlip Wed
To Norman Goldman

In a ceremony on Dec. 16, at
Holiday Manor, Miss Beverly
Roslyn Charlip was united in

marriage to Norman Goldman.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Samuel Smith, of Calvert
Ave., and the late Israel Charlip.
The bridegroom's parents are
the Sam Goldmans, of Elmhurst
Ave: Rabbi Morris Adler offici-
ated at the ceremony.
For her wedding, Mrs. Gold-
man chose a gown of antique,
ivory satin, fashioned with a
neckline of illusion that was
outlined in seed pearls and irri-
descent beads. It was further
distinguished by a full bustle
back, which extended into, a
circular train.
Her hip-length veil was held
in place by a small cap, de-
signed with matching pearls
and beads. She carried a Co-
lonial bouquet of white carna-
tions.
Mrs. Irving Gerschanow came
from New York to attend her
cousin as matron of honor. The
bridegroom's brother, Sam Gold-
man, was best man.
Following their return from a
wedding trip to Miami Beach,
Fla., the couple is residing on
W. Chicago Blvd.

Center Mothers' Club
M'Lava Malkah Jan. 24

Its annual M'Lava Malkah
will be presented at 8 p.m. Sat-
urday, Jan. 24, at the Davison
Jewish Center, by the Center
Mothers' Club, Mrs. Joseph
Katz, Club president, has an-
nounced.
Under the direction of Mrs.
Rose Schuraytz, program chair-
man, the program will include
a Havdolah service, a discussion
of the significance of the M'La-
va Malkah and community sing-
ing. Refreshments will be serv-
ed.

Junior Hadassah Groups Plan
Blind Date Square Dance
Central and Northwest Groups
of Junior Hadassah will hold
their first joint social, an all
blind date square dance at 8:30
p.m., 'an. 24, at Carmel Hebrew

became the bride of Marvin Ro-
sen, son of 1Vtr. and Mrs. David
Rosen, of Webb Ave.
For her wedding the new Mrs.
Rosen wore a gown of white sat-
in styled with a • sweetheart
neckline, with long sleeves corn-
ing to a point over her hands.
The skirt was fashioned from a
full peplum forming a full cir-
cular train. Her fingter-tip veil
of illusion fell from a white
satin sweetheart shaped crown
and she carried a cascade of
calla-lillies.
Mrs. Elaine Dvorkin was ma-
tron of honor, and Elaine Her-
skovitz and Janis Lazar were
bridesmaids. Dr. Harold Rosen
served his brother as best man,
and Arnold Weiss and Fred Ro-
sen were ushers. Also in the
wedding party were the bride's
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Max.
Ludwig and Mrs. Reelna Weiss.
Corrinne Sue Weiss was her sis-
ter's flower girl.
Following dinner and a recep-
tion in the social hall, Mr. and
Mrs. Rosen motored to Miami
Beach. They will make their
home on W. Chicago.
