Start Enrollment
For New Semester

•All the children attending the
United HebreW School branches
now preparing for . their
tests, culminating the first se-
mester of the current school
year. Within the next week, re-
port cards will be handed out
and promotions to new classes
will take place.
The current semester saw the
enrollment in the United He-
brew Sch6ols reach a new -peak.
It . marked the opening of the
newest branch at the Beth
Aaron Synagogue, Wyoming and
Thatcher, and an increased en-
r011ment in other branches in
the Hebrew School . system.
New classes for beginners will
start Jan. 26, Since facilities
for. beginners 'are limited, it is
urged that parents contemplat-
ing enrolling their children for
the Jan. 26 classes do so at once.

8:30 p.m., Tuesday, at 'Young
Israel Center, announced Mrs.
Norman Naimark, chairman.
_ .Levin's speech, "Our Own Im-
age: A Survey of the Jew in
American Literature and Films,"
is the first of four addresses in
a winter series of letures un-
der the auspices of the, Labor
Zionist Organization of Detroit.
Levin is an outstanding , au-
thor, film maker and reporter,
and is the author of "In Search,"
"Yehuda," "The Golden Moun-
tain" and "The Old Bunch." He
has also achieved recognition
for his films, "The Illegals" and
"My Father's House." _
Second in the series is Rabbi
James G. Heller, who will be
heard on Jan. 28. Other speak-
ers are Abraham Duker, sched-
uled for Feb. 10, and Maurice
Samuel, March 17. All programs
will be held at Young Israel.
