citizens, on his sixtieth birthday,
on Dec. 11, it will pay tribute to
a man who, by dint of personal
courage and perserverance, has
built one of the great printing
enterprises in the state of Mich-
igan and, at the same time, has
set an enviable record with un-
selfish service to all human
causes.
There is hardly a worthy
movement that does not have a
record of participation in it by
Morrey Aronsson. He has been
a leader in Allied Jewish Cam-
paigns, in Community Chest
drives, in religious and civic
movements. H i s memberships
attest to his interests. .

He was chairman of the Al-
lied J e wish CampaignS in
1935 and 1948, and in inter-
vening years headed impor-
tant divisions in the leading
Jewish community drives. He
is a member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek and Temple
Beth El, of the United He-
brew Schools, Jewish Com-
munity Center and the Zionist
-Organization. He is a member
of the governing boards of the
Jewish Welfare Federation,
Jewish Home for Aged: Ameri-
can Jewish Committee, Sinai
IP Hospital and American Red
• Cross.


Mr. Aronsson served as chair-
man of the Michigan Crippled
Children's Commission, by ap-
pointment of Governor Murray
Van Wagoner.

More than 1,200 leaders repre-
senting J e w is h communities
throughout the nation will set
the stage for the United Jewish
Appeal's 15th year of humani-
tarian service when they meet
Dec. 12-14 for the UJA's annual
national conference at the
Waldorf - Astoria H o t e 1, New
York, announced Edward M. M.
Warburg, UJA general chair-
man.
Prominent among the spokes-
men who will outline Jewish
`needs and responsibilities will be
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chair-
man of the Jewish Agency, who
helped negotiate the $822,000,-
000 reparations agreement with
the West German Federal Re-
public; and Dr. George Joseph-
thal, treasurer of the Jewish
Agency, who headed Israel's
delegation at the reparations
conference with the Bonn gov-
ernment.
Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, UJA
executive vice-chairman, who
recently returned from Jeru-
salem following consultations
with Prime Minister David Ben-
Gurion and with leaders of the
Jewish Agency, will report on
these talks as the conferees de-
liberate on the needs which
American Jews must meet
through the UJA's 1953 .cani-
Paign.

His business genius is re-
flected in the fact that, com-
ing to this country at the age
of 17, he was able to rise to
positions of leadership in his
community while developing a
powerful business. His vision
was recognized recently when
he was elected to membership
on the board of the City
Bank of Detroit. Previously,
his status in business and
commerce was recognized by
his election to membership on
the boards of Union Invest-
ment Co., National Finance
Co., Kleen Stick Corp. of Chi-
cago, Ill., Plastic Tape Corp.
of Newark, N.J.

His major dctivity is in the
Aronsson Printing Co., located
at 2001 W. Lafayette. He or-
ganized the firm in 1917 and he.
remains at his desk daily as
president of the company. He
also is treasurer of Kleen Stick
Corp. of Chicago.
Born in Halmstad, Sweden,
Dec. 11, 1892, Maurice Aronsson
came to the United States in
1909. He started the Aronsson
Printing Co. in 1917.
He married the former Dora
Abramsohn on May 21, 1916.
They have two daughters, Mar-
gie Louise Gross and Lois Selma
Kottler; a son, Herbert Allan,
who is associated with him in
the Aronsson Printing Co., and
three grandsons. The Aronssons
reside at 660 Whitmore Road.
Mr. Aronsson is a 'charter
member of Printers Association
of America. He was among the
organizers of Detroit Racing As
Blair Distilling Co. of
Louisville, Ky., and P e o p 1 e's
State Bank of Hazel Park, Mich..

To Present 'Don Juan'

Noar, college-aged group of
Habonim, will present its ver-
sion of George Bernard Shaw's
"Don Juan in Hell" as part of a
program to be held at 8 p.m.,
Saturday, in the home of Rena
Silver, 16219 Normandy.
The group will follow the pat-
tern set by the Broadway com-
pany, which visited Detroit last
year with the presentation. Ac-
