Delmonico Hotel Adopts
Moderate American Plan

Continuing its policy of fine
food,' entertainment and restful,
luxurious vacation living, the
-150-room Delmonico Hotel in
Miami Beach prepared to wel-
come the vanguard of winter
visitors.
The hotel is located in the
"fashionable sixties," or newer
section, of Miami Beach, a few
moments from f a m e d Lincoln
Road.
Under the direction of execu-
tive owner Max Benkowitz, Del-
monico has achieved an inter-
national reputation for excellent
service and warm hospitality.
Tony Lamare, for 15 years as-
sociated with Cincinnati's Neth-
erland Plaza hotel dining room
is catering manager of the Del-
monico.
The Umbrella Room, just off
the spacious 19bby of the Del-
znonico, is a study in black mir-
rors, brightened with colorful
umbrellas over cozy table s.
Heard nightly are Carlos. and
Melisa and their orchestra and
vocals. Guest stars take the
spotlight several nights weekly.
This year, Delmonico has in-
augurated a modified American
plan in response to the urgings
of many of its guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Isaacs, of Cherrylawn Ave., and Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Simons, of Leslie Ave., have returned from a visit
in Philadelphia, Pa., and New York, N. Y., where they were exten-
sively entertained by their relatives and friends.
To celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Frederick, Mr. and
Mrs. Leo Goldsmith, of Roslyn Rd., entertained members of their
family and out-of-town guests at a luncheon in the Sheraton
Cadillac Hotel, following the ceremony. A dinner and reception
at the hotel that evening was attended by family and friends.
Reva KOwalsky will present her pupils in a piano recital Sun-
day, 3 p.m., in Baldwin Recital Hall. The public is invited.
At its November meeting at the home of the S. D. Munches,
of Washburn Ave., the Menucha Family Club installed Harry Fit-
low as its new president. Nearly 50 members attended.
Miss Ethel Clair Glass, daughter of Zelda Glass, of 2254 Pin-
gree, was tendered an open house in honor of her birthday on
Dec. 1.
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Masserman %, of Boston Blvd. W., will
honor their parents, Mr. and Mrs. David M. Dean of Maplewood
Ave., at a buffet supper this Sunday on the Dean's golden wed-
ding anniversary. Attending will be their family and close friends.
Mr. and lYfrs. Sidney Morris of West Outer Drive visited their
family in Youngstown, 0., over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Dr. and Mrs. Julius Y. Burnstine, of 16161 Lawton, have - left
for a six-week vacation at the Sea Isle Hotel, in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Polk last week celebrated their 19th wedding
anniversary.
Dr. and Mrs. Louis Fealk and son, Stuart; are now residing in
their new home at 24046 Dante, Oak Park.
Larry Strager, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Strager, of 19300 Pra-
irie, has returned home after spending two years with the Armed
Forces.
Mrs. Adele Mondry will be guest speaker at a meeting of the
Flint Chapter of Pioneer Women on Wednesday evening at Flint's
Temple Beth Israel. She will review "The Tongue of the Prophets"
by Robert St. John.
