OUR WEEKLY MESSAGE
TO THE JEWISH COMMUITY
Tradition plays an important part of our lives as both
Jews and Americans. Only last month, on Nevember 27, we
celebrated a day that has become hallowed and treasured by
all of us — by all Americans — Thanksgiving Day. That tra-
dition is carried out through prayers in our churches and
synagogues, through celebrations with our families in our
homes.
Another and most important part of the Thanksgiving cus-
tom is decorating our homes and partaking of the- usual
poultry. We Kosher Butchers were happy to serve you on
Thanksgiving, and look forward again to serving you as we
approach our great Jewish Holiday of Hanukah.
Hanukah represents a victory of pioneers in the Jewish
homeland just as Thanksgiving is a, tribute to those pioneers
who helped establish our America. Hanukah was a great
victory for the Jews, who although greatly outnumbered,
recaptured the Temple at Jerusalem.
As we go to our synagogues this Hanukah, let us all give
thanks for these pioneers of ancient days — and also to
our present-day pioneers in the re-born state of Israel. Let
our home celebrations be filled with laughter and gayety,
let our visits to the synagogue be joyous, yet humble, as we
pray for our fellow brethren.
And let us remember, also, that to help keep our traditions
intact the Kosher Butcher is here to serve you. He has a
wonderful selection of holiday birds -- all finest quality —
to suit your needs and your pocketbook.
