On Nov. 9, Mr. and Mrs. Man-
. uel • Wold, of 19360 Indiana,
learned that they were the
grandparents of two baby boys.
The infants, however, are not
twins.
•A son wag, -, born to each of
their two daughters, one in the
morning ,the, other in the eve-
ning, at Women's Hospital.
The first boy, Jeffrey Allan,
• was bOrn to Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
•:ward Meer (Norma Wold), of
• 13251 Irvine Blvd., Oak Park.
They have another son, three
,•years old'.
Steven. 'Allen Milgrom is the
first' son of the Harry Dailgrom's,
of 19783 Freeland. Mrs. Milgrom
• is the. former Eileen Wold. - They
have two daughters. Dr. M. E.
Bachman attended both births.

The 12th Street Council Chess
and Checker Club was host to
an organizational meeting of
several chess and checker clubs
in the area last Sunday, at
which the Greater Detroit Chess
Club League was formed.
William Bergman, president
of the 12th Street club, presid-
ed, and introduced the after-
noon's guests, GeOrge Eastman,
the state chess champion, and
E. S. pre-end, vice-president of
the United States Chess Federa-
tion,
About 80 representatives and
officers of 12 chess clubs in the
Metropolitan Detroit area at-
tended.

Early this month, the Bnai
Brith Youth Organization met
for its first meeting of the year,
with representatives of AZA,
BBG, Council officers clear-
ing a few dates for several im-
portant events to take place in
the near future.
Israel BBYM Chapter will be
holding its third annual barn
dance on Dec. 23, at Gramer's
Barn, 11 Mile -and Inkster Ads.
In its first two years the dance
has been such a success that it's
running a close second to the
traditional Yom Kippur night
dance, sponsored by Council, in
total profits.

AZA and BBG groups won't
be idle daring the holiday vaca-
tion from school. Big doings in
the form of the regional con-
ventions of both groups will be
held here in Detroit from Dec.
27 to 30.
Registration will begin on the
27th, with a • social mixer plan-
ned for delegates in the evening
at the Woodward Jewish Center.
A brunch will start the follow-
ing day's activities, followed by
the keynote Speech. There'll be
some more socializing in t h e
evening, with a barn dance
scheduled.
Following Monday's business
meetings, the top social event
will take place—the semi-formal
ball, in the Veterans Memorial
B1Q1g. A banquet and installation
of new regional officers for both
groups will close the convention
on Tuesday evening.

of BBG will hold its 3rd annual
Karnival Kapers on Jan. 31, at
Cong. Bnai David. More infor-
mation will follow next month.

city's Bnai Brith Lodge for his
work on behalf of inter-faith
