The Wayne University Press
has announced the release of its
new publication, "Toward Bet-
ter Human Relations." The 120-
page volume contains the first
series of the annual Leo M.
Franklin Lectures in Human•Re-
lations at Wayne. .

Dr. Lloyd Allen Cook, holder
of the Frank1Th Memorial Chair
during its first year (1950-51)
and chairman of the depart-
ment of 'educational sociology in
Wayne's College of Education,
edited the book.
Both' the lecture 'series and a
memorial professorship were es-
tablished at Wayne University
in 1949 by the board of trustees'
of Temple Beth El in honor of
Dr. Leo M. Franklin, who died
in 1948 after 42 years as Rabbi
of the Temple,
The five lectures in the vol-
ume were given ' at the Univer-
sity as public addresses. Each
speaker was selected by Dr. Cook
as a distinguished leader in his
field.
The lectures were given by
Louis Wirth, Dr. Eduard C.
Lindeman, Gordon W. Allport,
Dorwin Cartwright.
The paperbound volume sells
for $2.50. Copies may be ordered
from the office of the Wayne

to theatrical tradition in "John

the stage of Masonic Temple for
one performance only on Dec. 8.
Gregory has assembled a sup-
erlative group of stars to trans-
port the Stephen Vincent Benet
classic from the library to the-
living medium of the theater.
In this new attraction Gregory
again places his main reliance

Col. Giladi addressed a lunch-
eon of the Kiwanis Club and
spoke at an assembly of the
Michigan State College in Lan-
sing sponsored jointly by the
political department of the State
College 'and the Hillel Founda-
tion.
Col. Giladi interpreted the
Israeli position and aspirations
to the audiences which hereto-
fore were -not well acquainted
with Israel.
