Tribute to Book Month
Mrs. Jacob E. Segal will be
guest speaker at a four chapter
meeting of the Detroit Women's
Division, American Jewish Con-
gress, on Wcdnesday, at the Da-
vison Jewish Center.
Following a luncheon for
members and guests at 12:30
p.m., Mrs. Segal will review
"Anne Frank—Diary of a Young
Girl". Local, national and inter-
national news releases will be
presented by Congress commen-
tators, Mesdames Morris Bach-
Man, Joseph Greenberg, Leon
Herman and Harry Hoffman.
Mrs. Charles P. Feinberg is
president of the Detroit Wom-
en's Division.
Israel Children's Village
At its conference in Toledo,
earlier this month, the East Cen-
tral Region of Pioneer Women
(which includes Detroit Chap-
ters) signed contracts commit-
ting their memberships to build-
ing and furnishing a school-
house at Kanot, Israel.
The building will be part of
a $1,500,000 project undertaken
by Pioneer Women throughout
the nation to build a children's
village at Kanot, which is on
the road to the Negev. Over
400 children will be cared for
by the women.
The village will be erected
over a five year period, and will
include all buildings and equip-
ment necessary for complete
maintenance of the village.

that a grove of trees will be
planted in Israel through the
Jewish National Fund in mem-
ory of Alex Nichamin who died
Nov. 4.
Many trees already have been
planted in this grove, and- the
numerous friends of the late Mr.
Nichamin are responding to the
call.
Mr. Nichamin was a past
president of the Michigan Linen
Board of Trade and a leader in
Farband, the LZOA and Hista,-
drut campaigns.
