men's Auxiliary. Funds raised at last Wednesday's night of games
at the Latin Quarter are being sent to Israel to. buy artificial limbs
for disabled veterans of the Israel War for Independence. They
also will be used for scholarship in Israel and at Wayne Univer-
sity, Detroit, for needy medical students.

Appoints Steering Committee

zation for Fair 'and Equitable
Rents took place Oct. 30 in
Mishkan Israel Hall. Members
are M. Manuel Merzon. chair-
man, Mrs. Val Williams, Mrs.
Sylvia Bonim and Barney Ver-
nor.
Merzon pointed to American
and Israeli -flags which flanked
the speaker's platform and stat-
ed that the birth of both em-
blems was the Unquenchable
striving for' liberty. But, he em-
phasized, that -liberty is dimmed
when a poor family finds itself
without a roof over its heads
because of exorbitant rents.
Judge Arthur W. Sempliner,
