Rabbi Moses Lehrman, chair-
man. and Abe Kasle, president of
the United Hebrew Schools.
The first meeting of the
Women's Auxiliary of the
Schools on Oct. 8, to be held in
the Rose Sittig Cohen building,
will feature a program dedi-
cated to "The Story of Hebrew
Summer Camps." The Hebrew
Schools sends full or partial
scholarship students to Camp
Sharon, Camp Massa d and
Camp Kinneret. Annie Guyer,
Judith Panush and Barbara
Frank, respectively, will tell
the story of each of t h e
camps.
Kvutzah Ivrith will present a
joint program with the Ladies
!Auxiliary on Oct. 9, the eve of
Hashanah R.abbah, at which
brief addresses on Jewish educa-
tion will be delivered. Joseph
Katz is Kvutzah president, and
Mrs. Julius Ring, president of
the Auxiliary.
A half-day institute will end
the program on Nov. 9. Details
of the event are currently being
planned by a committee headed
by Albert Elazar, associate super-
intendent of the schools.
Other education month fea-
tures will be a symposium dis-
cussing the problems of Jewish
education, a bruncheon, ar-
ranged by the Hebrew Teach-
ers' Organization, a program
arranged by landsmanschaften,
a radio program and publication
of a special brochure.
A special invitation to the
symposium is addressed to youth
organizations by its chairman,
Norman Katz. Other committee
members are Ezri Atzmon and
Reuben Bar Levay.
The brunch eon is being
planned by Morris Nobel and
his committee which includes
Michael Michlin, Israel Elpern,
Rae Goodman and - Meyer Ma-
this. The affair will honor Max
Gordon, a veteran teacher of
the Schools, and will feature
an educational and entertain-
ment program.
Ira G. Kaufman is in charge
of a special committee, which
will make available to organiza-
tions and landsmanschaften. a
number of speakers to acquaint
Jewish groups with the program
and activities of the Schools.
Jacob Kellman is head of the
radio committee, which is work-
ing on a program story of the
Schools' program.
The brochure, "The United
Hebrew Schools Today." con-
tains informative material on
the work of the Schools, and
will soon be distributed. The
school bulletin. Kolenu, will also
give a detailed explanation of
the school curriculum and extra-
curricular activities. It will be
available after the holidays.
