Background of 'Anne Frank'
Every sensitive adolescent at
some time or other starts to
keep a personal record of his
thoughts and actions as he
ceases being a child and becomes
an adult.
An outstanding exception to
this rule about young diarists
was Anne Frank. a Jewish girl
living in Holland, who krpt a
detailed record of her life from
the time she was 13 until she
was 15.
"Anne Frank : The Diary of a
Young Girl." originally pub-
lished in Holland, has been
translated into English, and,
with a foreword by Eleanor
Roosevelt, will be published -by
Doubleday (575 Madison, NY22)
on June 16.
Center Open Forum to Discuss
Israel-German Reparations
The Open Forum of the Jewish
Center will discuss "Can We
Trust Germany?" at 8:30 p.m.,
Wednesday at the Woodward
Center. Speaker of the evening
will be Sam Brown ; regional di-
rector of the American Jewish
Congress. The public is invited.
