Trained Volunteers
BIG Day volunteers in De-

a unique training program or-
ganized by Mrs. Alexander W.
Sanders and James I. Ellman,
co-chairmen of the sales train-
ing committee, who planned a
series of nine sales training
meetings held at the Jewish War
Veterans Memorial Bldg.
Every volunteer was required
to attend one of the meetings,
designed to explain the techni-
calities involved in selling state
of Israel bonds and the correct
procedures for recording bond
subscriptions.
The co-chairmen praised the
efforts of committee members,
Mesdames Samuel S. Aaron, Max
Fried, Samuel Cross, Carl Schil-
ler, Henry Berris and Irving
Lipson; Messrs. Samuel Leib,
Harry Yudkoff, Morris Jacobs
and Al May.
Message from Weizmann
An important message to
American Jewry, on the occasion
of BIG Day, was received by
Henry Morgenthau, chairman of
the board of the Israel Bond
Issue; from Dr. Chaim Weiz-
mann, President of Israel. Dr.
Weizmann cabled from his
home in Rehovoth:

of Israel to cement the estab-

ensuring its economic security
and independence.
"I am confident that on na-
tional BIG Day the American
Jewish community will mobilize
its strength on an unprecedent

Israel bonds and their meaning
into tens of thousands of Amer-

PRESENTS THE IDEAL GIFTS FOR PURIM
"TONGUE OF THE PROPHETS"
The Life Story of Eliezer Ben Yehuda
By ROBERT ST. JOHN (Author of "Shalom Means Peace")
Here are two books in one. The first, a moving story of this very human
man's fight for the things he held dear, the people he loved, the life he clung
to tenaciously though always in the shadow of death . . . the other a studious,
thoughtful biography which properly evaluates the contribution of this great
scholar and visionary.
