25, at the Davison Jewish Center.
Subjects to be covered at the
sessions include "Jewish Histor-
ical Background," "Jewish Holi-
days, Customs and Ceremonies,"
"Varieties of Jewish Religious
Expressions: Orthodox and Re-
form," "Varieties of Jewish Re-
ligious Expressions: Conserva-
tive a n d Reconstructionist,"
"Jewish Ideologies: Zionism and
Anti- Zionism," and "Jewish
Ideologies: Secular Movements."
The final session will be a sum-
mary and social.
The Institute as conceived in
1949 to provide an annual dis-
cussion series on subjects de-
signed to supplement and
strengthen the agency profes-
sional staff'S understanding of
the historical and sociological
background of the organized
community and to provide a
medium, cutting across func-
tional lines, for a professional
consideration of basic concepts
and philosophy.
