The couple graduated f r o m
Wayne University, where Miss
Bamberger was affiliated with
Sigma Theta Delta sorority and
Mr. Siegel with Alpha Phi Omega
fraternity. Miss Bamberger also
took postgraduate work at the
University of Michigan.

Detroit Synagogues to Join All Faiths
In Celebrating Thanksgiving Holiday

Detroit's synagogues will join
with all other faiths in holding
special Thanksgiving services on
Thursday, Nov. 22. Following is
a schedule of traditional
Thanksgiving Day and sabbath
services.
At Cong. Shaarey Zedek, Dr.
Henry Hitt Crane, Central Meth-
odist Church, • will speak at
Thanksgiving services at 11 a.m.,
which will also serve to inaugu-
rate the celebration of the syn-
agogue's 90th anniversary. At
Sabbath services Rabbi Morris
Adler and Cantor Jacob H. So-
nenklar will officiate.
Rabbi Jacob E. Segal will de-
liver a brief sermon at Thanks-
giving services at Adas Shalom
Synagogue, beginning at 11 a.m.
and ending at- 12 noon. Cantor
Nicholas Fenakel will chant spe-
cial prayers. At late Friday serv-
ices Rabbi Segal will preach on
"The Army Cannot Be Stopped."
At Cong. Bnai David, Rabbi
Joshua S. Sperka will preach on
"Thanksgiving as a Test Day."
Services began at 11 a.m. and
last until 12 noon. Cantor Hy-
man Adler will chant hymns of
the day, and the youth groups
will participate in a speCial pro-
gram. A party at the conclusion
of services will honor children
of members and of the religious
school. At Sabbath morning
services Rabbi S p e r k a will
preach on "He Opens the Eyes
of the Blind."
Services at Cong. Bnai Moshe
begin at 11 a.m. with Rabbi
Moses Lehrman speaking on
"Overextended Living." Cantor

David Katzman will chant the
service. Sabbath services at 4:50
p.m., Friday,; at 9 a.m., Satur-
day.
Temple Israel will dedicate its
Sabbath eve services tonight to
the 200 new members of the
congregation. Jacob A. Citrin,
president, and- Reuben Levine,
chairman of the reception com-
mittee, will deliver a welcome,
and Reuben Axelrod will re-
spond for the new members.
Rabbi Leon Fr am will preach on
"Living Judaism." The Bar Mitz-
vah of Raymond Alan Jacobs
will be observed.
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick
will speak on Saturday on "The
Lesson of Sodom and Gamorrah
for Our Day," at Cong. Beth
Aaron. At Temple Beth El,
Dr. B. Benedict Glazer will
speak tonight on "Facing the
Uncertainties of Life Today."
Services at Cong. Mishkan Is-
rael will be held at 5 p.m., to-
day, and at 9 a.m., Saturday.

Mrs. Si Zeldis and Mrs. Tama
Brightman left on Sunday for.
New York and from there on
Thursday sailed on the Ile de
Fr a n c e to Marseilles, from
there proceeding to Israel to
visit with their children, Mr.
and Mrs. Hayyim Zeldis, in the
settlement Hazirim.
Mesdames Zeldis and Bright-
man took with them nearly
2,000 pounds of material for the
Hazirim colony, including elec-
trical and other apparatus.
Hayyim Zeldis' uncle, Max
Lapides, who has toured the
Middle Eastern countries to as-
sist the JDC in the transfer of
Jews to Israel from Moslem
countries, again is assisting in
the settlement of newcomers in
Israel and visits frequently with
the Zeldis' in Hazirim.

- open its sixth Institute for Adult
Studies on Nov. 27, 8 p.m. Class-
es will be held from 8 to 10:15
p.m. each Tuesday for 18 weeks.
Classes at 8 p.m. include
courses in conversational He-
brew for beginners and ad-
vanced students and a lecture
course on "Israel: Its Land,
History and People," conducted
by Albert Elazar. .
Classes at 7 p.m. include a
lecture - demonstruction course,
"Adventures in Jewish Prayer,"
conducted by Rabbi Jacob E.
Segal and a survey of "Out-
standing Jewish Novels." The
latter half of the Institute sea-
son will also feature a series on
"Psychiatry and Religion," an
extension of last year's course.
