City of Hope at Duarte Calif.,
(formerly the Los Angeles San-
atorium)..
The City of Hope is a non-sec-
tarian institution under Jewish
auspices established to help
tuberculosis and cancer patients
who are financially unable to
help themselves. The institution
has gained world- wide recogni-
tion for it's very successful re-
search both in tuberculosis and
cancer. A clinic, which has re-
cently opened, is the only Free
Cancer Hospital of its kind in
the United States.
Morris Canvasser is chairman
of the affair. Morris Fruman is
honorary chairman and Harry
Victor, co-chairman. N. R. Ep-
stein is president of both the
Detroit Business Men's Group
and the Los Angeles Auxiliary
in Detroit.
The Business Men's Group
contributed $30,000 in 1951. It's
goal for 1952 is $50,000. Enter-

The most intensive fund-rais-
ing drive in its history is being
planned by the Detroit Section;
National Council of Jewish
Women, announced Mrs. Emil
R.othman, president. The drive
for funds, which will support
various local projects, is being
chaired by Mrs. Jack Wenger
and Mrs. Arthur Bloom.
They will be assisted by Mrs.
Nathan Schermer and Mrs. Carl

president. The drive will cul-
