A summer- vacation at camp—boy, that's the dream of every youth! The
Torch Drive meets the operating deficit of Fresh Air Camp which each
- summer provides camping for some 700. Jewish children. Not designed
primarily for underprivileged boys and girls, the Comp helps fill the gap for
parents who can afford moderate rotes to proVide their children with a
healthful active vacation in a Jewish atmosphere.

Day camps are just one phase of the well-rounded recreational program of
thq,, Jewish Community Center, another Federation agency receiving funds
from the Torch Drive. Whether as a meeting place for Jewish groups of all
ages, a gym and swimming pool for popular sports, a "school" of art classes,
dancing or music, a sponsoring agency for Jewish cultural events, the Center
is a nucleus for the many facets of modern Jewish social life.
