Mrs. Robert Janeway, of Canterbury Drive, enjoyed a few
days' visit with daughter, Joyce, in Washington, D. C.
Mrs. Edward Katz and daughters, Janet and Barbara, of Pen-
nington Drive, are leaving for Portland, Ore., to join Mr. Katz.
They are establishing residence there.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ruskin have returned to their home in
Chicago after a brief visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Ginsburg, of Whitmore Road.
Mrs. Arthur Bloom, of Gloucester Road, is spending a fort-
night in New York City.
Dr. and Mrs. Maurice Meyers, of Wildemere Ave., were hosts
the past week to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glueck of Gary; Ind.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Siden, of La Salle Blvd., have returned
from a visit with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
I_rving Siden, of Chicago,. Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Selesko, of Santa Barbara Drive, have as
house guests, their mother Mrs. Joseph Levy, and aunt, Miss Lil-
lian Federlin, of New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alpern, formerly of Wisconsin Ave., now
are residing in their new home at 17364 Fairfield Ave. .•
MN. Warren Shwayder, of Longfellow Ave., returned by plane
from a brief visit in New York. -
Mr. and -Mrs. Ben Tolmich ; of the Wilshire Hotel, have re-
turned from a.stay in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh D. Lichtig, children of Dr. and Mrs. I. H.
Dix of Cherrylawn Ave:, are spending the winter in Beverly 'Hills,
Calif.
Dr. and Mrs. Nathan Goldberg, of Concord Road, Huntington
Woods, are back home after a fortnight's holiday in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs: Herman Arnold, of Ann Arbor, arrived at WilloN)
Run Monday evening after a month's stay on the West coast. "
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kabrin, of Los Angeles, are here for a
visit with their children, the Donald Goldmans, of Oak Park.
Pfc. Alan S. Gold spent the High Holy Days at home with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gold, of Princeton Ave. Alan was re-
cently elected to the Board of Governors at Scott Field Air Base
in Belleville, Ill., where he is stationed.
Samuel Polak has returned to his home in Brussels, Belgium,
after spending the summer with his children, Mr. and Mrs: David
B. Levin.
Detroit Alumnae of Iota Alpha Pi Sorority celebrated its 49th
anniversary with a Founders' Day tea Oct. 12, at the home of Mrs.
Ruth Levitt, 12652 Stoepel. Guests included active members of Nu
Chapter of Wayne University. The social chairman was Mrs. Enid
Cherniak. Guest speaker was the national chancellor, Mrs. Muriel
Goodman, who was introduced by the Detroit chancellor, Mrs.
Frances Perlin.
Mrs. Ray Leichtling entertained her landsleit from Dabrowa
at a cocktail party held recently on the veranda of her Oakrnan
Blvd. home.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Potiker have returned from a three-month
tour which took them to Israel, Italy, Switzerland, France and
England.

agencies, including the report
on these agencies by Dr. Robert
M. Maclver.

The Bar Mitzvah of Joel Jerry
Malin, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.
Malin will be observed Saturday,
Oct. 20, at Yeshivath Chachmey
Lublin. A reception honoring the
Bar Mitzvah will be held at 7:30
p.m. that evening at the Mayfair
Room.

Human Relations Institute

Three hundred high school
students will discuss human re-
lations problems at the third an-
nual High School Institute For
Democratic Living to be held
Saturday, 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
at the YWCA Central Branch,

Student delegates from public
and parochial high schools . will
attend the institute. It w a s
planned by high school students
under the guidance of Kathleen
Coyle Brondyke, associate edu-
cational director of the Detroit
Round Tabl. of Catholics, Jews
and Protestants, sponsoring or-

The keynote address, "Free-
dom—For What", will be pre-
sented by Sheldori Steinh user,
Anti-Defamation League of

M. Frehse, executive secretary of
the Round Table, will give the
welcoming address. Ethel Alpen-
leis, anthropoligist and profes-
sor at New York University, will
be guest speaker, at. luncheon.
