Zedakah Tea to Serve
As Jubilee Warm-Up
Zedakah Club, meeting at the
home of its pr,esident, Mrs. Mau-
rice Cornfield, completed plans

for its fall tea to be held Oct.
29, at the Davison Jewish Center.
Herman Pritz, pantomime artist,
will be guest entertainer.
The tea will serve as a kick-
off event for Zedakah's 20th
jubilee which this year will fea-
ture as guest artists Molly Picon,
of the Jewish stage and screen,
and her husband, Joseph Kalich.

Flew Study Club Formed
By Center Clubs' Merger
A merger of the Woodward
Study Club and the Women's
Study Club has led to the for-
mation of a group called the
New Study Club. This group has
joined the Council of Mothers'
Clubs, it was announced by Mrs.
Martha Burnstein, secretary of
the council.

Club, who were initiated Oct.
3 by Mrs. Ann Goldman, former
president of the Woodward
group, are:

The 36-year-old Israeli am-
bassador to the United States,
Abba S. Eban, is "fast winning
a reputation as an expert at
diplomatic repartee," says the
Oct. 20 issue of Saturday Eve-
ning Post.
In an article titled "That Wit-
ty Young Man from Israel," the
Post tells the full story of Eban's
meteoric career in the Zionist
cause. Born in South Africa, he
grew up in London and was ed-
ucated at Cambridge University,
where he was an outstanding
student debater and later a lec-
turer on Arabic, Persian and He-
brew literature.

Local School Board Votes
Bus for Hebrew School Kids
BURBANK, Calif. (AJP)—The
local Board of Education voted
to place a school bus at the dis-
posal of the Burbank Jewish
Center at a nominal charge if a
sufficient number of students
are enrolled in the Center's He-
brew school classes.
The Valley Jewish News dis-
closed that under a tentative
plan, the Jewish students would
be picked up at school and taken
to the Jewish Center, then trans-
ported home.
