New Detergents
Plant In Israel

NEWSPAPER WEEK - 1951

TEL AVIV, (JTA) — Estab-
lishment of a new factory in the
Haifa Bay area producing syn-
thetic detergents and financed
exclusively by American capital
was announced by Harold J.
Goldenberg of Minneapolis,
president of the Kadimah Com-
mercial Corporation. He said
the plant would produce twice
Israel's present consumption of
detergents and its production
would save foreign currency for
Israel.
The company plans also to
process chemicals for the textile,
leather, metal and rubber in-
dustries for local consumption
and export, he said. Associated
in the project, he said, are a
group of Philadelphians headed
by William Sylk and Samuel
Daroff, and Sam Rothberg and
