board meeting at a luncheon , at
the Whittier, June 25. Commit-
tee chairmen were appointed.
An allocation was made .to the
Bright's Disease Research Fund.
A rededication was made to
continue the work of Bnai Brith.
The annual picnic will be held
at Dodge State Park No. 8, July
15, for men's and women's Chap-
ter, their families, and friends.
There will be prizes and games.
Talmud Series to Sub
For Eternal Light
On Sunday, the Eternal Light
radio program produced under
the auspices of the Jewish Theo-
logical Seminary will present the
first program in its special
series: "The Talmtd".
The principal speaker will be
Rabbi Israel Goldstein, of. Cong.
Bnai Jeshurun, New York. He
will speak on "The Individual
and the Community." -
This series marks the first at-
tempt to bring the meaning of
the Talmud to a representative
cross-section of the American
listening public. Each of the
ten half-hour programs will fea-
ture an address on an aspect of
the Talmud by a prominent
American Rabbi.
"The Talmud" series will con-
tinue through Sept. 9, after
which the regular Eternal Light
programs will be resumed. It
will be heard at 8 a.m., Sunday
over WWJ.
Turover to Achieve $25,000
Goal in Israel Bond Drive
The Turover Aid Society ex-
pects to reach $20,000 to $25,000
in its drive to aid the Israel
bond c L m p a i g n. Near that
amount was pledged at a bond
rally June 24, at which Daniel
Temchin was guest speaker.
The Society recently gave a
testimonial dinner in honor of
W. and Mrs. J. Lebowsky on
their 35th year as members.
Guest speakers were Rabbis
Bakst and Gardin.

the World-Wide Travel Bureau,

Aug. 1 a special rate for travel
