Unemployment Cut
By Histadrut in-Israel

NEW YORK — The Histadrut,
Israel's labor federation, is
largely responsible for reducing
unemployment to an almost
negligible amount in the Jewish
State, Mordecai Surkes, director
of Histadrut's Department of
Immigration, asserted.

Surkes arrived in this country
on a special mission and plans
to return to Israel in four weeks.
The former head of the Jew-

tadrut headquarters that 80 per-
cent of all newcomers join the
Histadrut as soon as they arrive
in the Jewish state and are im-
mediately enrolled for courses
in, Hebrew and in vocational
training. -
