Plans for Hadassah's "H" Day
will be revealed at a meeting of
all group presidents, member-
ship chairmen and co-chairmen
of Detroit Chapter of Hadassah
to be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday,
May 29, at the home of Mrs.

To Be Guest Speaker
At Detroit Convention
Henry Albert, national com-
mander of the Jewish War Vet-
erans will be the guest in De-
troit of the Department of Mich-
igan, at its annual convention
in Detroit on June 1 to 3.
Convention business sessions
will commence at 9 a.m., June 3,
at the -JWV
• - Memorial Home.
Prior to the
business sessions
a series of social
and civic func-
tions have been
arranged by the
,..400%plannin0 corn-
. mittee.
These events
include a press
cocktail party
Henry Albert at the Veterans
Memorial Building in honor, of
Albert. Invited guests at this
event will include veteran lead-
ers of the community and pub-
lic 'officials.
The convention ball will be
under the stars on the outdoor
terrace adjoining the Memorial
Home on June 2. Music will be
provided by the Manhattan Trio.
The convention will conclude
with a banquet at the Mayfair,
on June 3, at which Mr. Albert
will be the principal speaker.
A Jamaica, Long Island, at-
torney, Mr. Albert is a veteran
of World War I, and a graduate
of the City College of New York
and Columbia University Law
School. He is a leader in the
American Legion, and has held
high elective and appointive of-
fices in the Jewish War Veter:-
ans prior to his election- as na-
tional commander.
The Detroit Common Council
has designated the weekend
"Jewish War Veterans Days" in
honor of the convention.
Arrangements are being
handled by committees headed
by Mrs. Rose Cowan of the De-
partment of Michigan Auxiliary
and Henry Littman, represent-
ing the department.

will picnic this Sunday, May 27.
Picnickers will meet at 1 p.m.
at the Zionist House, Lawrence
at Linwood, and from there will
go to a park.
The afternoon will be spent at
a park. Those attending are
asked to bring sports equipment.

city for Sunday night supper.
