Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kaye have returned from a Bermuda
honeymoon, and now are residing at the Chatham Apartments on
Pingree ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Heldman of Cincinnati are here for a
visit on the occasion of the 80th birthday of their mother, Mrs.
A. M. Ermann.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Winkelman of Fairfield Ave. are guests for
a week at Hotel Warwick, New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Goldman, now residing at 19165 Wood-
ingham Dr. had as their house guest the latter's mother, Mrs.
Kreger of Los Angeles. Mrs. Kreger will go on to New York for a
visit' with other members of her family before returning to the
West coast.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Werny of Sturtevant Ave. will spend
the week in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Fenton of Boston Blvd. are vacationing
on the West coast.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Saulson, of the Wilshire Hotel have as their
house guest, Mrs. Harold L. Talbot of New York City.
Alan Feinberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Feinberg of Boston
Blvd., a student at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, was home
for a brief visit while en route to the Hadassah convention in
Toledo which he addressed on the "Youth Movement."
Mr. and Mrs. Al Silber, formerly of 3253 Sturtevant ,are now
residing at 925 Whitmore -Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Oschin, (Helen Raskin) formerly of Detroit,
now of Los Angeles, Calif., were in town visiting her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Moe Raskin, of 2900 Tyler Ave. They were entertained
at a dinner given in their honor by Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weiss,
4025 Tyler.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Fishman and daughter, Geraldine, have
just returned from Miami Beath, Fla., where they spent the win-
ter at their Biscayne Pointe home.
Mr. and Mrs. George M. Roberts, formerly of the Lee Plaza
Hotel, are now residing at 660 Whitmore Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Meisner and son, Laurence, are now
residing at the Belcrest Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis M. Elliman entertained Mr. and Mrs. Leon-
ard N. Simons, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Foreman and Mr. and Mrs.
Morris Bloomberg at a dinner May 3, at the London Chop House.
The dinner was in honor of Mrs. Elliman's birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. William Karbal,

Dr. Shmueli to Address
Kvutzah, UHS, Midrasha

Dr. Ephraim Shmueli will be
the guest of Kvutzah Ivrith (He-
brew Cultural Group of Detroit),
the staff of the United Hebrew
Schools and the Midrasha dur-
ing the weekend of May 19.
Saturday afternoon he will
speak at an oneg shabbat in the
Joseph H. Ehrlich conference
room of the Rose Sittig Cohen
Building. The same evening, he
will deliver an address at a Mal-
,avah Malkah in the Rose Sittig
Cohen auditorium. His subject,
"Education in Israel."
Sunday evening he will lecture
in the same place on "Modern
Hebrew Literature". All his lec-
tures will be delivered in He-
brew and are open to the public.

Folk Chorus to Enact
Warsaw Ghetto Fight
At 26th Annual Concert

Representing the cosmopolitan
nature of Detroit, many Jewish
residents will participate in the
250th anniversary celebration of
the City of Detroit.
One of the principal features
of the anniversary will be a
"City of Freedom" pageant with
a cast of 1200 at the University
of Detroit Stadium from July 13
to 22. The show will depict in
music, dance and dialogue the
various freedoms evolving in De-
trOit throup its history

Mrs. Haskell Lazere will be
guest speaker at the Detroit
Chapter of the National Worn-
en's Committee of Brandeis Uni-
versity annual business meeting
at 10:30 a. m., Tuesday, at the
Woodward Jewish Center. Her
subject will be "Cracking Down
on College Quotas."

SYLVAIN JOY CRANTZ

Theodore Crantz, of Monica
Ave., announces the engagement
of his daughter, Sylvain Joy, to
Louis H. Landau, son of Mrs.
Sadie M. Landau, of Astoria,
New York, and the late Emanuel
Landau.
The bride-elect is a senior in
pre-law at Wayne University.
Landau is a chemical engineer-
ing graduate from Syracuse Uni-
versity. A July wedding is plan-
ned.

The committee helps support
and maintain the library at
three-year-old, Jewish sponsored,
non-sectarian Brandeis Univer-
sity in Waltham, Mass.

World War II left many dis-
placed persons, but an atomic
war is likely to leave many dis-
personed places.

the 39th anni-

founding of the
Odessa Progres-
sive Aid Society.
This group,
banded together
since 1912, with
integrity to spir-
itual heritage,
have always

anitarian causes. Now, the group
works untiringly to help meet
the great- need of the State of
Israel.
Louis Nathanson, assisted by
Jacob Menacer, is in charge of
the occasion. The committee in

Just a Reminder ...

The Jewish Folk Chorus, with
Henri Goldberg conducting, will
present its 26th annual concert
at 8:30 p.m., May 20, in the
Scottish Rite Cathedral.
The tone poem, "Di Naye Ha-
gode," by . Max Heitman will be
featured. The music is based on
the story of the battle for the
Warsaw Ghetto, which was the
last stand of Polish Jewry
against the Nazis.
Saida Gerrard, noted' New
York choregrapher, with a ballet
of 30 dancers will appear in the
production. Miss Gerrard will
play the role of the Warsaw
Yingle. The same troupe will also
perform in Chicago.
Several Yiddish and Hebrew
folk songs will be performed by
the chorus, and a new composi-
tion by Richard Newman, with
words by Carl Sandburg, will be
heard for the first time in De-
troit. Miss Gerrard will do a solo SZ Sisterhood to Hold
