Mr.- and Mrs.• Leo Rubenstein of Ohio Ave. have left for St.
Petersburg, Fla., where they plan to spend a month.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rosen and son have returned to their home
in. Muskegon after a few days' visit with friends.
. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sacks of Merton Rd. are spending 10 days
in New York.
Mrs. Irene .Gordon has returned to her home in Petoskey,
Mich., after a visit with her -son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Levine of Mt. Clements.
Joel and David Helfman, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Helfman
of Indiana Ave., have returned from .Miami Beach where they
spent three weeks as the guests of their grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel Helfman.
Dr. and Mrs. H. Goodman of Greenlawn. Ave. had as their
guest her mother, Mrs. L..Mandel of Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. George Seligman and their daughter, Karen,
have returned to their home in Marion, 0., after a few days' visit
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius .Hartman of Indiana Ave.
Marvin Barnett of LaSalle Blvd. has left for a stay in Miami
Beach, Fla.
Mr." and Mrs. George Sherman, of 326Q Lawrence, are enter-
taining their sister, Mrs. Sara J. Levine, of Washington, D. C.,
for two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Cohen of 3044 Elmhurst, celebrated their
26th wedding anniversary Jan. 11.
Capt. and Mrs. Robert . P. Natelson visited their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Eugene Lastar, of • Sturtevant Ave,. while en route to
Washington, D. Cr., where Capt. Natelson will do special work at
the Army's Walter Reed Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Becker, of Strathcona Dr., will leave short-
ly to spend a few weeks at Hotel Martinique in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Boraks of Waverly St., 'have left by plane
for an extended visit abroad. They plan to visit in Denmark,
Sweden, France, and England. Prior to their departure, they
were extensively entertained by relatives and friends. —
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Leader, of 1710 Webb, will leave shortly
for an extended visit in California where they will visit their
family.
Howard Binkow, of Burlingame Ave., spent his vacation from
the University of Michigan in Los Angeles where he attended the
Rose Bowl game.
At a recent party at. the Great Lakes Club, Miss Patricia
Joyce Oppenheim, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 'Royal A. Oppenheim,
of 1941 Wellesley Dr., and Miss Ernestine Winston, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Winston, of Birmingham, entertained 110 of
their friends at a dancing party followed by a midnight supper.
Both girls will leave soon to resume their studies at the Univer-
sity of Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Baskin and daughter, Sandra, of the
Belcrest Hotel, spent the recent holidays in Chicago.
Lois Collins Wed To Martin Budman
At a wedding Jan. 7 at Cong. tin Joseph Budman, son of Mr.
Shaarey Zedek, Lois Annette Joseph Budnitzky, of Webb Ave.
The bride chose an original
gown of ivory satin and chan-
tilly lace bodice and sleeves,
with a stand-up collar, all done
in a leaf pattern. The skirt was
full with a scalloped train, and
her silk illusion veil was held in
place by a bonnet head piece of
ivory satin • and chantilly lace.
She carried orchids on a prayer
book.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Harvey ,-Lynn, and bridesmaids
were Eveleen Budnitzky a n d
Mrs. Max Aiken. Serving the
bridegroom as best man w a s

The couple is honeymooning in

of Pfc. Harvey Bloom, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bloom, of
Fullerton Ave. •
For her wedding gown, the
bride chose one of white, chif-
fon velvet, with a matching
crown and veil. Harriet Yan-
over, sister of the bride, was
maid of honor, and Morry Matz
was best man. Bridesmaids in-
cluded Shirlee Bloom, sister of
the bridegroom; Marian Schwalb
and Nancy Glance. Karen Bak-
er was flower girl, and Richard
Jaffe, ring bearer.
Ushers were Harry Gracoff,
Irwin Yanover; brother of the
bride; and Henry Weintraub,
who sang "Because." Rabbi
Morris Adler and Cantor- Hyman
Adler officiated, and both stayed
with their wives for dinner.
Rabbi David Bakst also attend-
ed.
Out of town guests included
Mrs. John J. Kates and daugh-
ters, Rayna' and - Karen; Mrs.
David Heller, and Mr. and Mrs.
William Fine and children, all
of Toronto. Mrs. Jack Smith,
of Chicago, also was present.
The young couple will live in
Colorado Springs, Colo., while
Bloom is stationed at Camp Car-
son. ,
"Dear Ruth," a delightful
comedy, will be presented by
members of the Central High
School graduating class at 8
p.m., on Jan. 18 and 19, in the
school auditorium.
The cast includes Elaine Hy-
man, Hank Baskin, Bessie Le-
vine, Irving Kanat, Margo Stark,
Sheldon Abramson, Ned Flusty,
Berta Tauber, Carol Altman and
Sheldon Otis. Directed by Ar-
thur Rosenau, the production is
sponsored by the Central High
School Parents Assn.
"Happy Home Life" and "Why
Children Drop out \ of High
School" will be discussed before
the Central High School Parents
Association at 9:15 p.m.,
Wednesday in the school audi-
torium.
Miss Ella Davenport of the
home economics department will
discuss the former subject while
Mr. Franklin Henshaw, attend-
ance officer, will discuss the
dropouts sand what parents can
do about it.
Music will be under the direc-
tion of Dr. Harry Seitz, of the
school.
