Federation pressing communal

Fashion Show Ends
Successful Campaign
Of Hadassah Women

Tickets are being mailed to
all Hadassah contributors for
the climax of their 1950 Honor
Roll campaign, the Pauline Tri-
gere Fashion Show to be held
at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the
Masonic Temple.
Miss Trigere, famous design-
er for some of the world's best
dressed women, is personally
supervising the production. Pro-
fessional New York models will
wear over 100 of Miss Trigere's
new creations.
Fran Harris, of WWJ staff, will
interview Miss Trigere on her
personal life, and Miss Jean
Sharley, Free Press fashion
writer, will interview her on cur-
rent fashions.
Mrs. Ch a r 1 e's Gershenson,
chairman of arrangements an-
nounces that Frank Gagen's Or-
, chestra will furnish the music.
Sponsoring the fashion show are
five Detroit women's apparel
stores, Saks 5th Ave., B. Siegel
& Co. Milgrom's, Irving's and
Edith Brown.
Mrs. Louis Glazier, Chapter
fund raising vice-president and
vo-chairmen of Honor Roll, Mrs.
Milton Mahler and Mrs. Nor-
man Rom are credited with the
success of the 1950 campaign.

Ben Fishman, chairman of the
1950 UHS membership drive, was
host at the brunch. Mr. Fish-
man continues the work of his
late father, Morris Fishman, is
seeking large -membership en-
rollment in the schools.

pointed permanent chairman of

Inspired by a successful cam-
paign which netted 100 new
families for the congregation,
the board of directors is under-
t a k i n g another membership
drive before it starts building
the new synagogue.
Fenkell has set the new mem-
bership goal at 100 additional
members within the next two
months. He is assisted on the

The traditional Hanukah cele-
bration of Kvutzah Ivrith will
take place Saturday, at 9 p.m.,
in the Rose Sittig Cohen Bldg.
The theme of the evening will
be "Maccabeans and Chalut-
zim", with participants Meyer
Mathis, chairman, Michael
Michlin, Morris Lachover and
Israel Elpern.
Abraham Schachter will lead
community singing.
Hanukah refreshments will be
served by the Ladies Auxiliary
of the Kvutzah Ivrith, of which
Mrs. Julius Ring is president.
Everybody is welcome.

The Linwood Branch of the
Parent - Teachers - OrganfZation
of the United Hebrew Schools
will celebrate Hanukah at a
party Thursday; Dec. 14, at the
Jewish Center, 12th St. Branch.
Mrs. Jack Kaplan, chairman,
is assisted by Mr. Elpern, prin-
cipal of the school, Mrs. Helen
Raclin and the Misses Leah and
Rose Pike, in planning the pro-
gram. Parents, teachers and
children will participate. All
parents are invited.

Aaron religious school will pre-
sent a Hanukah pageant, in
which children from all classes
will participate. At the celebra-
tion, which is Open to all pupils
and their parents, Bernard Pa-
nush, director of the school, and
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick,
will speak briefly.
Each class will offer a pro-
gram of recitations, songs and
music, and the Sisterhood will
distribute gifts and- refresh
ments. Mrs. Sidney Weinberg,
Sisterhood vice president and
staff member of the religious
school, has directed and pre-
pared the pageant.
