Hebrew studies are combined
with outdoor sports at the Beth
Yehuda,h day camp.
The campers, who range in
age from five to 15, study He-
brew, Bible, Talmud and Jewish
observances. More than 275 of
Beth Yehudah's year - round
students are continuing their
Hebrew - schooling through the
summer, either in the day camp
or in half-day school sessions.
Sports activities are carried
on at Rouge or Lola Valley
Parks. The children swim daily
at Tappan pool, and work at
arts and crafts in the Beth Ye-
hudah workshop.
For older campers, cookouts
in Kensington Park are a regu-
lar feature. Younger children
have been taken on expedi-
tions to points of interest about
Detroit.
Lunches and afternoon snacks
are served at the Camp. All
children are picked up and re-
turned at home, in Beth Yehu-
dah buses.

Bnai David Men's Club met

officers last Thursday to make
its plans for the coming season.
Arrangements are being made
for a picnic in August and a
wienie roast in September.
The club will hold its "get-
acquainted" night in ' October
and games party in November.
Activities for December will in-
clude a Hanukah party, past
president's night and initiation
of members.
Plans for 1951 include a mid-
winter frolic in January, ama-
teur night in February, Purim
party in March, musical night
in April and kiddies party in
May.

of living in Israel dropped two
points, from 319 in May to 317 in
June. This is a 33 point drop
from last June when the index
was 350.
