Col. Alfred G. Katzin, a South
African Jew who served as
consultant to UN Secretary
General Trygve Lie, was ap-
pointed Lie's personal repre-
sentative in Korea. His mis-
sion will be to assist effective
implementation of the UN Se-
curity Council resolution on
the Korean conflict.
Col. Katzin, 43, served as a
colonel in the South African
armed forces during the last
war. Later he was Deputy
Director - General and chief
executive of UNRRA in Wash-
ington.

Grease hot frying pan with
butter. Pour in enough of bat-
ter to cover bottom of pan
evenly. Fry until very light
brown; turn carefully with spat-
ula, and let brown slightly on
other side. Re-grease frying
pan and stir batter before mak-
ing each fridatte. Pancakes
must be as thin as possible.
When all cakes are fried, spread
each on a plate and fill with the
prepared cottage cheese. Roll
each filled fridatte and line up
in oblong baking dish. Cover
with two cups of milk (or sweet
cream) and dot with butter.
Cover and bake in moderate
oven half an hour. If necessary,
serve with additional sugar. •
