Mrs. David Kaltman of Canterbury Rd. returned from Cleve-
land, where she attended the Metropolitan' Opera season.
Mrs. Milton Harris of 18488 Hartwell has as her guest Mrs.
Jerry Gosler of Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred W. Payson and son, Anthony of Chicago
Blvd., and Herman Lieberman have returned from a fortnight's
visit in NeW Orleans.
Mrs. Kate Green of Broadstreet Blvd. has returned from a
15-7– 'kstay in Miami Beach.
Mrs. Mollie Ittigson of 2224 Pingree has returned home after
spending three months in Miami.
Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Yourist were entertained on their 25th
wedding anniversary Sunday, April 23 at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. J. B. Ormond. A mock wedding was included in the festivi-
ties, followed by supper for 45 guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wineman of Hamilton Dr. have returned
from a Caribbean cruise.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Oberfelder of Canterbury Rd. have re-
turned from Miami Beach.
Maurice Enggass of Cumberland Way has left for a fort-
night's visit in Europe.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Newman of Canterbury Rd. and Julius
Gilbert of Arden Park are spending the week-end in Charlevoix.
Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Klein of Atkinson Ave. have returned
from a few weeks' visit in Palm Beach and Miami Beach.
Mrs. Louis Cohane of Highland Ave. has returned from a few
days' stay in New York.
James' Ginn has returned to his classes at Harvard Law
School in Cambridge, Mass., after spending the spring vacation
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Ginn of Birchcrest Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hirschfield and Mary Ann Berns of
Fairfield Ave. have returned from a visit in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin M. Rosenthal Jr. of Renfrew Rd. are
visiting in New York.

from a fortnight's stay in Miami Beach.
Mrs. Nathan Sloss of Covington Rd. has returned from Chicago

At a candlelight ceremony
April 16 at Shaarey Zedek, Rose
Mendelson, *daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Mendelson of Burl-
ingame Ave., and Dr. Seymour
Berman, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Mark L. Berman of Webb Ave.,
were united in marriage.
The bride wore a white satin
gown ,with lace bodice and train.
Her fingertip illusion veil fell
from a crown of satin and lace.
She carried a bouquet of white
roses with an orchid center.
Dolores Ann Barit served as
maid-of-honor, and the brides-
maids were Elaine Berman, sis-
ter of the bridegroom, Beverly
Markowitz and Shirley Mocow.
Milton X. Fishman served as
best man, and the ushers were
Daniel Babitch, David Mendel-
son, the bride's brother, and
David Moscow.
The couple are honeymooning
in California.

Final plans have been an-
nounced for the 25th annual
Mrs. and Mrs. A. H. Brodie
jubilee concert of the Detroit
Jewish Folk Chorus, with Henri announce the marriage of their
daughter, Madeleine, to Mandell
Goldberg conducting.
The "Naye Hagode," a tone
poem for chorus and ballet by
Max Heitman will be the main
feature of the concert, which
will be presented Sunday eve-
ning, May 28, at the Scottish
Rite Cathedral of Masonic
Temple.
Saida Gerrard, noted New
York ballerina, will dance the
part of the Varshever Yingele
and will also be in charge of
choreography.
Yiddish and Hebrew folk
songs by the adult and Youth
choruses will complete the pro-
gram.
Mrs. Rose Levine is in charge
of tickets and Mrs. Arnold Sab-
aroff is chairman of the sou-
venir program with Mrs. Joseph
Jaffe, co-chairman.
Aliza Stullman will be the ac-
companist.

installation of officers Sunday
evening, April, 23 at the Four
Dukes Supper Club. The follow-
ing auxiliary officers were in-
stalled by national vice presi-
dent Arlene Rhodes: Ruth
Schreiber, president; Cecil Sil-
verman, Rose Goodman, vice
presidents; Lee Shapiro, treas-
urer; Dora Blatnikoff, recording

tees. The Auxiliary's annual hos-
pital party was held at the Ma-
rine Hospital last week, with a

Veterans are having a night of
games to raise funds to equip
the memorial room and lounge
at the JWV Memorial Home in
memory of their sons who made
the supreme sacrifice in World
War II, Saturday evening, April
29, at the home.
Entertainment has been ar-
ranged under the chairmanship
of the board of directors headed
by Jack Geller. The public. is in-
vited. •
Membership in the Gold Star
Parents is open to the parents
of any Jewish boy who died in
service.
Plans are being made for the
erection of a bronze marker con-
taining all the names of Jewish
war dead from Michigan, to be
hung in the Memorial R o o m.
Any information for the plaque
should be transmitted to the
secretary at the office of the
Jewish War Veterans on Davi-
son.
