BEN BURG

This North African Jewish youngster reflects the sad
plight of Jews in the Moslem areas. Her transfer and up-
bringing in Israel, as well as the immigration of 150,000 other
homeless Jews in 1950, are tasks which American Jewry must
carry through with funds contributed to the UJA.

and about 1,500 students in our
municipal colleges now study-
ing modern Hebrew.
"During- the past 20 years, I
believe that a total of some 50,-
000 students have taken advant-
age of these courses. This work
has given courage to several
other cities to launch the sub-
ject in their own high schools."
