Dr. and Mrs. Meryl M. Fenton left on Feb. 28 for the west
coast. Dr. Fenton, who is public relations chairman for the
American Academy of Allergy, will attend its 6th -annual conven-
tion, which will be held at the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles,
March 6-8.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rochman will hold open house at their
home, 2995 Blaine, from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 12, in honor
of the engagement of their daughter, Dolores, to Jerry Zarkin, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Juan Zarkin of Guadalajara, Mexico. No cards.
Mr. and Mrs. Moritz Bahr of Zurich, Switzerland, were the
guests of their sister and brother, Mr. and Mrs. J. Traurig of Bos-
ton Blvd. After -a month's sojourn in California, the Bahrs will
return to New York to spend a few days with the Traurigs before
returning to their homeland.
On Nov. 19, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Goldman of Collingwood Ave.
entertained at a dinner and reception at the Wilshire hotel in
honor of the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Hilliard Jerome. The fol-
lowing night Hilliard left to resume his studies at Cranbrook
School. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gold and
daughter of Chicago and Mrs. Paul Rips of Omaha, Nebr.
Mrs. Hyman Kaber of Ford Ave., has returned from a month's
vacation in Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cuttler of New York City are the house
guests of Mr. • and Mrs. Harry A. Krandall and family, and their
father, S. A. Cuttler, who now resides in Detroit.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schmier and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Way-
burn, attended the 13th biennial convention of the National Fed-
eration of Temple Brotherhoods at Dallas, Tex., Feb. 26 to 28.
They represented Temple Beth El.
A surprise birthday dinner was given for Murray Sanford
Sherman on March 1 at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
George Sherman. The dinner was given by his aunt, Mrs. Sarah
J. Levin of Washington, D. C., who is here to attend his Bar
Mitzvah' this Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. David Lichtenstein of Buena Vista Ave. have
returned from their vacation in Hollywood, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Brown held open house. Feb. 5 in
honor of Mrs. Brown's brother, David A. Pollick of Los Angeles, and
his fiancee, Ethel Berlin of Cleveland. Out-of-town guests in-
_eroded the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berlin of
Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. H. Throbe of Bay City and Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Barnett of 17655 Manderson Rd., and Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Ellstein of 18497 Roselawn have returned from an
auto trip through the South. In Coral Gables, Fla., they visited
the Ellsteiri's daughter, Marcia, a student at the University of
Florida. In Miami Beach, they were joined by the Barnett's
daughter and Son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bernstein of Bay
City.
Marilyn Surowitz of 2916 Waverly Ave., celebrated her 16th
birthday, Feb. 25 at Huyler's in the Fisher Bldg., with a luncheon
for 22 guests.
\ Dr. and.Mrs. Martin E. Kohn, of 70 Highland, are moving to
Los Angeles. Dr. Kohn, who has practiced medicine in Detroit for
more than 40 years, is retiring and wishes to thank his many
friends for the kindnesses shown him during his recent illness.
Mrs. Ida Lichter and her daughter, of Tel Aviv, are visiting
at the home of their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Max Potok,
4110 Collingwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe Srere of Boston Blvd. are vacationing in
Miami Beach.
Mrs. Joseph Sampliner of the Belcrest Hotel 'is visiting her
mother, Mrs. Weinberg, in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Henry Fechimer of Huntington Woods has returned from
a visit in Cleveland with her aunt, Mrs. Walter Friedman.

Detroit Couple. Marks
65th Anniversary
With children scattered
throughout the world, an aged
Detroit couple will mark their
65th wedding anniversary with
a quiet family dinner Sunday,
March 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rosen-
berg of 1918 Pingree, though ill,
Will be celebrating the joys of
a long life and marriage at the
respective ages of. 85 and 83.
With them will be a son and
daughter from Detroit, David
Rosenberg and Minnie Rappa-
port, grandchildren and great
grandchildren, and, in spirit,
five children still in Russia and
a grand-daughter in Israel.
If there is grief present at the
little family dinner it will be in
memory of the Rosenberg's
three children killed during
Hitler's Russian invasion. • -
Mr. Rosenberg arrived in this
country in 1930, and was fol-
lowed five years later by his
wife and two of their children.
He had been a textile manufac-
turer in his small Ukranian
home town. In the United
States he first tried the export
import business and later
turned to selling insurance for
the New York Life Insurance
Co.
Of the children who remained
in Russia, one is a doctor, an-
other an artist, and a third is a
government official. A grand-
daughter, Penina Rappaport, of
Detroit, went to Israel last Oc-
tober and is a member of Kib-
butz Mala Hamishah.
The couple are both citizens
and Mr. Rosenberg has travelled
throughout the U. S. Commun-
ity minded, they are members
of the Polishe Shul, Cong. Beth
Shmuel, Yeshivath Cachmey
Lublin and Vaad Hakashruth.

crown of orange blossoms. She

and orchids.

bridesmaid; Fae Freedman and
S ally Rosenberg, bridesmaids.
Best man was Sam Selvan,
brother of the bridegroom; jun-
ior usher, Jerry Clayton, brother
of the bride; Al Bobkin and
Jerry Rosenberg, ushers. The
flower girls were Linda Fiarman
and Paula Ezrack.
The couple honeymooned in
New York.

Mrs. Peiser has been active
in Jewish and Zionist circles in

monia and can testify first-
