AJC Junior Division Executive Doubles Hindu Wins U of
'50 Donations; Calls for Volunteers
Interfaith Award
Setting the pace for the 1950
Allied Jewish Campaign, the
campaign executive committee
of the Junior Division, at its
Feb. 21 meeting, increased its
contributions 100 percent over
gifts by the same people to the
1949 campaign, by pledging
$3,260, Albert M. Colman, the
division's campaign chairman,
announced.
Joseph Holtzman, vice chair-
man of the trade and profes-
sional groups in the 1949 Cam-
paign, was guest speaker at the
meeting. Fred Rowe, chairman
of the records committee, re-
ported that the junior files had
been cleared and are ready for
solicitation.
Area chairmen Robert M.
Feinberg and Samuel Kaner
stressed the need for volunteers
to work with the Junior Divi-

ing Detroit pioneers for Israel.
Especially needed in Israel, they
were told, are general chalutzim
and professional men, such as
doctors, engineers and archi-
tects.

A forum on "The Role of Ameri-
can Jewish Youth Today," will
be followed by dancing and re-

from New York have been in-

Interfaith Award during the
annual Brotherhood Banquet at
the University of Michigan, Feb.

The banquet was sponsored by
the University's 'Student Religi-
ous Association, and the pre-
sentation was made by Dean
Erich A. Walter of the office
of student affairs.
Dutt, a special student at the
University, is president of the
India Club and active in the af-
fairs of religious groups of vari-
ous denominations. He was des-
ignated as the student who has
done the most to develop and
further interfaith ideals on the
campus of the University during
the current year." The award
was $100.
Runner-up and recipient of
the Michigan Bnai Brith Council
Interfaith Award, consisting of
$50 worth of books, was Joyce
Simon of Teaneck, N. J., a jun-
ior in the college of Literature,
Science and the Arts.
