Bar Mitzvahs
Helen Karabenick Sets
March Wedding Date
Before her marriage to David L. Shapiro Dec. 20, the former
Caryl Phyllis Klein was entertained at showers and luncheons by
Mesdames Louis Schostak, I. E. Forman, Morris Meskin, Maurice
Shapiro, Samuel Fennor, B. Silverman and Richard Liss, and
Misses Sylvia Silverman, Bernice Trabman and Florence Gross-
man.
Mrs. Robert Margulies (Mildred Scanlon) of Los Angeles, for-
merly of Detroit, is the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome J.
Elden, 3310 Rochester.
A "bon voyage" dinner, honoring Lillian M. Bussel, Detroit at-
torney, was given at Huylers' Saturday evening, Jan. 7, by Bella
Ross. Miss Bussel leaves Jan. 19 for a tour of Europe and Israel
and plans to return home next May.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrie Brodsky, their children, David and Joanne,
and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kutnick, have returned from
Dallas, Texas, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Brodsky.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Cornfield of Lawrence Ave. entertained
their children and members of their immediate families, on the
occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary, Dec. 25, at Northwood
Inn.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Cohen of 3311 Chicago Blvd. returned from
Chicago where they visited with their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Levin and children, Billy and Diana,
formerly of Pingree Ave., are now residing at 3289 Elmhurst.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin M. Blanck and son, Stuart Harley, are
now residing at their new home at 18610 Hartwell.
Gerald Allan Kanter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip L. Kanter of
Chicago Blvd., has returned from a two-week stay at Miami Beach,
where he was a junior delegate to the convention of Zeta Beta
Tau fraternity. He has resumed his studies at Michigan State
College.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Cohen of 3044 Elmhurst celebrated their
silver wedding anniversary Jan. 11.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Butzel of Burns Ave. left on Saturday for
Palm Beach where they will spend the winter months.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Newman of Canterbury Rd. are spend-
ing a few days visiting in Chicago.
Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Hyman of Cincinnati spent the last week-
end as the guests of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and. Mrs.
Sidney Weisman of Suffolk Dr.
Mr: and Mrs. Walter Fuchs of Huntington Woods are spending
the week in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lewis Sr. of Whitmore Rd. have left
for Miami Beach where they are spending the winter Months.
The Herman Lewis' Jr. of Boston Blvd. are spending a few weeks
with them.
Mrs. William Fleischman of Whitmore Rd.. is spending a week
visiting in New York. • -
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Robinson of the Lee Plaza Apt. are visit-
ing in Chicago.
• Mrs. Edith Brand has returned to her home in New York after
a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan S. Grosner of Atkinson Ave.
Mr. and Mrs-. Louis Cohane of Highland Ave. have returned
from a month's stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Arden of Wildemere Ave. are spending the
week-end in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard N. Simons of Parkside Ave. are spending
the week in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lasky of Collingwood Ave. have returned
from a short stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Miss Dora Miller and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Rudolph Marks of Albuquerque, N. M., are spending a few
weeks in the city visiting with members of their family and
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sacks of Dexter Blvd. are spending a few
weeks in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lichtig of Burlingame Ave,are spend-
ing a week in Chicago.
