JWF Women List Project '50 Agenda
Thirteen thousand members of
h e Women's Division of the
JeWish Welfare Federation a r e
asked to attend the Division's
fourth annual institute, Tues-
day, Jan. 31, at Northwest He-
brew Congregation. The insti-
tute, this year entitled "Projec-
tion 1950", will begin its all-day
program at 10:30 a.m. with eight
simultaneous seminars.
Mrs. Charles Lakoff will chair
the session on the aged, called
"Living in the Later Years," and
will have, as resource p e o p 1 e,
Woodrow W. Hunter, assistant
director of the Institute for Hu-
man Adjustment at the Univer-
sity of Michigan; Harold Silver,
executive director of Jewish So-
cial Service Bureau, Norma Sil-
ver, secretary of Health Council,
Council of Social Agencies, and
Mrs. Ira I. Sonnenblick, case
worker at Jewish Home for Aged.
"Are You a Good Neighbor" is
the title of the second seminar
dealing with community rela-
tions. Mrs. David Cooper will be
chairman; Mrs. Julian H. Krolik,
moderator; experts, Mrs. William
Grahrti, Boris M. Joffe, executive
director of Jewish Community
Council, and Louis Tendler.

budgeting and planning session

At Shaarey Zedek
"When A People Sings" a dra-
matic script written by Rabbi
Morris Adler, spiritual leader of
Shaarey Zedek, vocally illustrat-
elate director of the Federation,
and Mrs. Samuel R. Glogower,
chairman of the committee to
review the Federation's budget-
ing procedure. Serving as chair-
man for this session, "Spending
for the Future," will be Mrs.
Benjamin E. Jaffe.
The fourth panel, comprised
of H u 1 d a h Fine, principal of
Hampton School, Dr. Irving Pos-
ner, pediatrician, and Dr. Ben-
jamin B. Stammell, child an-
alyst, will discuss child care un-
der the title of "The Child Is
Father to the Man." Mrs. Morris
Zwerdling, social worker, will
chair this session.
The next two groups will deal
with overseas issues. Mrs. Arthur
I. Gould will serve as chairman
of the seminar, "Jewish Horizons
Overseas," and will have as re-
source person Isidore Sobeloff,
executive director of the Feder-
ation. The other session, "The
New State Builds," will deal with
Israel. Leon Kay will be resource
"expert," with Mrs. Julian Tobias
as chairman.
The Jewish education semin-
ar, entitled "The Jewish Herit-
age Becomes the Future," will be
chaired by Mrs. Alexander W.
Sanders.
At the eighth session "Camp-
ing Unlimited," headed by Mrs.
Sidney J. Allen, Irwin Shaw,
executive director of Fresh Air
Camp, will be resource person.
Chairman of the day of "Pro-
jection 1950" is Mrs. Abraham
Cooper, _while Mrs. Raymond
Sokolov is in charge of the
morning sessions.
