Pioneer in Advertising
Reaches 30-Year Mark
In Jewish-Interest Field
Thirty years of effort in ad-
vertising and merchandising
with a Jewish slant are being
celebrated by Joseph Jacobs in
New York City. Formerly a high
school teacher,
Jacobs was a
pioneer in t h e
field of Jewish-
int erest adver-
tising.
His efforts
have helped
bring about a
greater unde r-
standing, on the
part of manu-
Jacobs facturers, of the
Jewish-American way of 1 i f e.
Such matters as the importance
of Kashruth in household pro-
ducts was brought to their at-
tention, increasing sales an d
providing a greater array of pro-
ducts suitable for use in Orth-
odox Jewish homes.
Among Jacob's best known ac-
complishments was publication
of bo6klets, in English, on Jewish
customs, traditions, culture and
dietary laws. Intended as guide
posts for advertisers in the Jew-
ish press, they were acclaimed
by Jews and non-Jews and were
reprinted many times.
