Mrs. Harry Shifman and daughter, Marilyn, of Gladstone Ave.,
will leave Dec. 18 for a vacation in Tucson and Los Angeles.
Mrs. Harold J. Marks of Los Angeles was the guest of her sis-
ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Batchko of Oakman
Blvd.
After spending Thanksgiving weekend with their children in
Washington, D. C., Mr. and Mrs. Abe Gordon and son, Milton,
have returned to the city.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Purdy of Chicago Blvd. have returned
from a few weeks visit in California.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ehrenreich of Chicago were guests at the
Belcrest last week-end while visiting with friends.
Ellis Fisher of Lakewood Ave. spent the last week-end in
Boston where he visited his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Ginsburg.
Mrs. Samuel Gerson of the Belcrest Apt. is spending a few
days in Cleveland visiting with friends.
Mrs. Lewis 'B. Daniels, president of the Detroit Section Na-
tional Council of Jewish Women was hostess at a tea in her home
on Warrington Rd. last Wednesday afternoon for the officers,
members of the board of directors, committee chairmen and
principals of the Resale Shop Fashion Show.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cohane of Highland Ave. left on Thursday
for Miami Beach where they plan to spend a month.
Mrs. Jack Buhai and her small son have returned to their
home in Highland Park, Ill., after a visit with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John L. Brown of Strathcona Dr. -
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Isbee and their four children of Webb Ave.
are spending the week in New York visiting with members of
their family.
Mrs. Israel M. Goldman and daughters, Anna Naomi and
Tobie Judith, of Baltimore, Md., are the guests of Mrs. Goldman's
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Slomovitz.
Mrs. Beulah Lewis of Cortland Ave. spent the Thanksgiving
week in Fairmont, W. Va., visiting her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry T. Golden.
Edward Springer, former Detroiter now in California, is
spending the holidays with his family, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Spring-
er of 9308 Genesee.
Mrs. Gertrude Diamond of New York City is visiting her cous-

Naomi Spector, court reporter in Los Angeles, is spending a
few weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Spector, to

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Caplan of Merton Road have returned
from a trip to the West Indies.
The annual Hanukah party of the Senior Congregation of
Shaarey Zedek will be held Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., in the synagogue's
social hall.

Young Judaea Sets
Hanukah 'Fun Night'

Mrs. Israel Goldstein, nation-
al president of the . Pioneer
Women's Organization of Amer-
ica, will be the featured speaker
The entire community, adults at the 19th annual donor event
and children, are invited to
Young Judaea's "Fun Night," in
celebration of Hanukah, accord-
ing to director Leonard Baruch.
The celebration will be held
Thursday evening, Dec. 22, in
the social hall of Cong. Shaarey
Zedek. The program features an
original play, "Truth and Con-
sequences" for the adults, and
special gifts for all Young Judaea
members.
Subscriptions are available
for the magazine "Young Jud-
ean," in time for the holiday.
