Detroit Histadrut Announces
300,000 Goal for 1950
Detroit Histadrut Committee has set a goal of $300,000
for 1950, an increase of $30,000 over last year.
Morris Lieberman, leader in the Detroit Jewish com-
munity and labor Zionist movement, was elected to lead
the new campaign.

organizations adopted the lar-
ger quota in view of the Israeli

role of the Histadrut in produc-
tivising the thousands of new-

honorary - chairman to honor his
20 years of service to Histadrut.

secretary, were honored at the
meeting. Max Chafetz, active La-
bor Zionist and Histadrut work-
er for 20 years, also was honored.

also voted to launch the Detroit

ing, under the auspices of the
Zionist Council, will be held
at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21,
at Central High School.
The purpose of this meet-
ing will be to discuss recom-
mendations, that have been
made by the UN Commission
for the internationalization of
Jerusalem, and to consider
action that should be under-
taken by American Jewish
communities.

to set up a "Biblical Theater"
here was submitted by the Ohel
Workers Theater to the Israel
government, the Jewish Agency
and the municipality here, each
of which was asked to contribute
$56,000 toward the construction
of a theater.
