Wearing a gown of white satin
trimmed with Fir ench lace,
Helga Hopfeld, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Hopfeld, became
the bride of Eugene Hirsch, son
of Mrs. Ch., Konheim and the
late Mr. Hirsch. The wedding
was held Aug. 21 at Shaarey
Zedek -Synagogue. Rabbis Morris
Adler and Leopold Neuhaus and
Cantor Jacob Sonenklar offici-
ated.
The bride's gown had a long
train. A lace head-piece
trimmed with pearls held' her
fingertip French illusion veil,
and she carried a white prayer-
book with orchids and stream-
ers.
Mrs. L. Kanheim, sister of the
brideg r oom, was matron - of-
honor; Joannie Freed and San-
dra Robinson were bridesmaids,
and Dana Hartman, flower girl.
Jerry Hirsch served as best man.
Out - of - town guests at the
wedding included Mr. and Mrs.
Herman Hopfeld and Mr. and
Mrs. Alex Katz and daughter of
New York; Mrs. Koester and
daughter of Boston; Mr.. and
Mrs. Soidenfelder and daughter
and son-in-law of Massilon, 0.,
and Mr. and Mrs. Ben S.hlager
and daughter and son-in-law of
Flint.
The young couple' will reside
at 3521 W. Outer Dr. upon their
return from their honeymoon
at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac
Island.

not • assume that its responsibil-
ties toward Israel and the Jew-
ish people have ended, 150 dele-
gates to the annual convention
of Senior Young Judea at Emma

Young Jude a, and Rabbi Am-
ram Prero, national director of
the American Zionist Youth
Commission.

Masada Opens Season
At September Meeting

Lee Shulman, program chair-
man for Masada, has announced
that the group's new policy of
combined social and educational
meetings will be inaugurated at
the opening session in Septem-
ber.
The program will include a
summary of the coming year's
activities, as well as a blending
of the Israeli and American
theme. Dancing will follow the
meeting.

Abner Dunn, new president of
the Young People's Society of
Shaarey Zedek, has begun work-
ing with his new staff in plan-
ning a program of events for the
forthcoming season.

A general meeting will be held
within the next few weeks, to
which all young people, 19 to 35,
are invited.

Hebrew Registration
At Wayne Begins Soon

Although registration for He-
brew courses at Wayne Univer-
ity will be accepted until Sept.
17, prospective students may
register for these courses im-
mediately after Labor Day, the
Jewish Community Council an-
nounced.
The elementary course will be
given from 7 to 9 p. m. Tuesdays
and Thursdays; with the ad-
vanced course being given from
4:30 to 6:30 p.m. those days. The
instructor will again be Louis
Panush. ,

YPC Dance Combines
Installation,Membership

Northwest Young People's Club
will present a combined instal-
lation and membership dance
Saturday, Sept. 17. Admission is
free and membership is . open to
all young people, 18 to 30.

The Mastersingers, semi-pro-
fessional young adult choral
group, has openings for sopranos,
altos, tenors and baritones.
The group is conducted by Fe-
lix Resnick of the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra and meets for
rehearsal once a week during
the winter.

For Yom Kippur Dance

Design Authority Lauds
Modern Living Exhibit

Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., modern
design authority of the Museum
of Modern Art of New York, has
given high praise' to the exhi-
bition, "For Modern Living,"
which will be presented at . the
Detroit Institute of Arts Sept.
11 through Nov. 20. Kaufmann
has visited Detroit a number of
.times this summer to assist Al-
exander Girard, Detroit archi-
. tect and designer, who is direct-
ing the exhibition, which will
present more than 3000 home
obj ects.

Seeks Relatives Here

Mrs. Levi of Johannesburg,
South Africa, who is seeking
relatives in Detroit, is reported
