Nominees Listed For Juniors' Israel Army Veteran

Community Service Committee Meeting Wednesday

Outstanding workers in the
Junior Division of the 'Allied
Jewish Campaign have been
selected as nominees for elec-
tion to the 1949-50 board of
directors of the Community Ser-
vice Committee of the Young
Adult Council, They will be
elected to serve for a one-year
term at the annual meeting of
the group at 8:30 p.m., Monday,
June 27, in the Jewish Commun-
ity Center.
The following people will be
nominees for the board of 36
directors: Arnold Agree, Harriet

Bobroff Robert Benson, Leonard
Baruch, Harold Berry, Evaleen
Budnitsky, Albert Colman, Judy

Four Detroit Youths

Named to Judaean
Leadership Camp

Joan Spevakow, Sue Hyams,
Daniel Judah Elazar and Car-
ml M. Slomovitz of Detroit have
been selected to be campers at
the second annual session of the
National Senior Young Judaea
camp, Tel Yehud.ah, which will
be held June 26 to July 17 at Tel
Naar Lodge in Hampstead, N. H.
Only 100 Senior Young Juda-
eans, representing all parts of
the United States, have been
chosen.
The purpose of the camp, ac-
cording to Norman Schanin, ex-
ecutive director of National
Young Judaea, is "to present,
through meaningful experience,
an understanding of contempor-
ary Jewish, life, which will pre-
dispose the campers toward giv-
ing service to the Jewish 'people
through the Young Judaea pro-
gram in their local communiti-
ties." A feature of the three-
week camp program will be spe-
cial celebrations of Young Ju-
daea's 40th anniversary which
is being observed this year by
more than 900 Young Judaea
groups throughout the United
States.
An experiment in Jewis.h. liv-
ing, Tel Yehudah seeks to de-
velop the interests of Senior
Young Judaeans along creative
Jewish lines in an atmosphere
of cultural Zionism. The daily
schedule provides for manual
.work, supervised study, organ-
ized and free play, creative Jew-
ish arts and crafts—all conduct-
ed on a democratic community
basis under the over all direction
of Schanin and his staff.

The annual meeting will hon-
or all 1949 Junior Division work-
ers in the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign. Special mention will be
given to the outstanding di-
vision among the juniors.
Dancing will follow the meet-

was the culminating activity of
the Bnai Brith Girls Council
held at the Jewish Community
Center last Sunday, announced
