Council Honors Deceased Leaders

At the delegates' meeting on
June 14; the retiring preSident,
Aaron Droock, stressed the
growth of the Council in the ex-
tent of its activities.
A moment of silence was
observed by the delegates to
honor the memory of Si/1101/
Shezer, the first president of the
Council; Fred Butzel, honorary
president of the Council since
its inception, and Rabbi Leo M.
Franklin, one of the early lead-
ers in the Council movement.
Harry Yudkoff expressed the
appreciation of the delegate
body for Mr. Droock's service in
office and for his efforts on be-
half both of the Community
Council and Detroit Jewry.
